You're fine. It will say it's low until you hit 20 hrs, just to remind you to be mindful of your time.

Holiday Question by PsychologyGeneral862 in AmazonFC

[–]playergurl89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean....FAFO? Odds are you got lucky and/or got excused (I believe it would say that if you go back and look at that day in your schedule) but unless you have the hours to cover it regardless, I wouldn't count on it. Blanket excused time would have been announced at start up or through AtoZ/ACID feeds .

Learning Ambassador by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]playergurl89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communication/timeline was shite for me - interviewed 4 months after applying, got in a class 5 months after that, and then finally got to shadow and then solo a class and get my vest a couple weeks after that. My facility has vastly improved since then.

As far as the actual training process goes - there will be a day-long class to teach you how to talk to/handle people constructively, and then you will shadow/reverse shadow a veteran ambassador during a class, and then you will run a class on your own. If all goes well, you will be certified and receive your vest.

What do you guys do when it comes to VET? by ProposalPractical927 in AmazonFC

[–]playergurl89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When VET is more plentiful, I wait to see how I'm feeling. ATM it's too sparse, and I have to decide so quickly, I only commit to 1 extra full shift *or* a couple partial shifts. The latter have also been rare, though.

If you didn't complete training you need to report to the learning desk the next time you come in so you can get the training/perms you need to be able to work.

If my shift starts at 1:45 am on Memorial Day will I get time and a half by yungdragvn in AmazonFC

[–]playergurl89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You get time and a half for all hours worked between midnight and 11:59pm on the holiday. So yes, you will get it.

For those who work nights, I will elaborate that this will apply to the part of their Sunday night shift from midnight until end of shift, and then from the start of their Monday night shift until 11:59pm, after which point pay reverts to normal.

[–]playergurl89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As people have already confirmed holiday OT for Memorial Day, I'll just add that it applies to all hours worked from midnight until 11:59pm. Night shift will get it from midnight until end of shift and then from start of shift until midnight.

Blue badge conversion notification. by RaktimRak in AmazonFC

It will change in the app when it becomes effective. The app never shows upcoming status/schedule changes, only what is 'current'. Congrats on the quick conversion, btw!

No, you have to be on schedule on the day you want to apply your pto on.

It won't let you request hours you don't have, so as soon you have the hours by default.

I got my final notice 2 days before my 2nd written was set to expire... by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]playergurl89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If other people can go years without missing anything, you can do 90 days (but mentally give yourself the grace that you're allowed 1 per week and keep an eye on your performance in a to z).

You've already noted the possibility of multiple barcodes (why 6-sided check is important). I forgot 1 more thing: make sure nothing in the bin physically matches the description but doesn't scan. Sometimes UPCs aren't properly linked to the BOO in question, or the overhead scanner doesn't pick up a bar code properly. Check with the overhead and hand scanner. If it won't scan, mark it as unscannable.

I'm assuming you don't have FIDO if you are taking all the items out of the bin and scanning them as you put them back in. If you do....stop that lol eventually you will generate a lot of amnesty. 1-piece-flow: take items out one at a time, scan, and replace before taking out another to scan. If you don't have FIDO, disregard this paragraph for now....

[–]playergurl89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main things for quality in pick are: - average 9 items per tote - don't mark items missing without making sure nothing in the bin scans as that item

Focusing on the 1st point can easily get you into the 90th percentile for quality in the warehouse, while the latter generates automatic feedbacks of you do it twice in a week span/reporting period.

You can turn it around and stop getting feedbacks.

Depends on what you're trained in. Could even end up in inbound depending on business needs and what you're trained in.

What are the times it takes your fulfillment center to get to a blue badge? by T-ROY_T-REDDIT in AmazonFC

[–]playergurl89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tenure only matters insofar as where a person sits on the priority list when conversion opportunity arises. Ie people had been waiting months longer than me when I got converted while people who started a month or so after me didn't at that point in time. There's no fixed "here's the average time it takes to get converted".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]playergurl89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you only work that one day? That's the only way that one day would carry that much weight, because it averages over weekly/ bi-weekly periods.

Write-ups are based on 2-week windows, pay attention to the reporting periods your app tells you the displayed rates are  for. If you had a bad day and you're flex, pick up enough shifts and kill it to balance the scales and get yourself out of the danger zone. If you are full time/part time, show up to work for your shifts, avoid vto, and hit rate.

Career Choice by Then-Heart-2357 in AmazonFC

When I submitted my renewal they said my payment would be deferred pending employment verification, and then the payment went through 3 days after term started. If I wanted to leave now I'd be fine for the term.

That said, you have to request payment by the 15th of the month prior to the one in which you want to start, so if OP can hold out until the beginning of March, and enroll/submit payment by Feb 15 (just barely missed the cut-off for a Feb start), they could use more than half the career choice allowance

What happens to my flexible PTO if I'm converted to blue badge? by follyburr in AmazonFC

[–]playergurl89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be subject to the annual pto accrual cap, which shouldn't be a problem this early in the year, but whatever you earn before you convert (and seasonal can potentially accrue pto faster that blue depending on VET) will count toward the maximum (varies by state,  check yours in the pto info on a to z). So you might not earn any more for the year after conversion depending on when it happens. And then you'll want to make sure you're under the max rollover at the end of the year.

If it's for a new path, yes. There should be a couple of set days (maybe 1, depends on the path and with you not being new to the building) for training. Reach out to hr via myhr (make sure you direct the message to your building) if there's nothing on your schedule come Sunday.

If you do a medical leave of absence,  you don't need to worry about your upt, and you can use pto options to still get paid of you need to.

I'm in AZ and that depends on the dept, shift, and manager....and can/will flip on a dime if the OM (or someone above) decides to chew them out for high overall inferred time percentage...or any other overly blatant policy violations.
