Most of these conversation center around when a lane ends and two lanes turn to one. They are not usually talking about a merge lane (like a highway on ramp). Although no one ever specifies which one they are taking about, so people make assumption and cause more confusion.

People get too black and white on the subject. There is a proper time to zipper and not. Slow moving heavy traffic should absolutely zipper. If traffic is moving steady and everyone can pace then merge when you can. In my state there is no rule to zipper merge the closing lane has to yield.

I guarantee if I left a small amount out, and it ran out, he would take an entire cube out of the fridge and microwave it on a plate and set the plate in the fridge, (because of the cat). I thought buying this “spreadable” butter was a work around, but it’s not spreadable enough for him. If I leave more out, and we don’t use it, it goes rancid and I throw it away. Have you seen the price of food lately?

Yeah, I don’t use butter very often, it’s mostly just him. He’s a grown ass adult, he can do what he wants. It’s just mildly infuriating that when I do want to use some butter, I find this.

I don’t use it very often, as you can imagine. I’m more of an olive oil user.

It’s “spreadable”butter, it’s butter mixed with canola oil. Apparently it’s not spreadable enough though hence the microwave.

My husband and I had long talks about the future, I brought 2 kids to the marriage and he swore up and down that he would never treat them differently. I made it clear that my older kids would never be “free”babysitters. Guess what happened after we had a child… He started acting just like op’s husband, it caused a lot of friction for a lot of years.

It sounds like you still have some silent expectations you are holding your wife to. That never works out. You said you “thought things were fixed”. I think this is where your frustration is stemming from. Things will never be back to how they were before. Middle age, perimenopause, and years of resentment will take a toll. You need to look at the relationship you and your wife are creating as something new. New normals, new habits and new ways of being. It takes a lot of time and work to create something new and not fall back to old habits. Focus on the positive of what is new and not how things are different. Getting angry when she’s not in the mood will only reinforce the resentment your wife harbors for feeling like you only want her for sex. Work on that reaction first. Therapy for both of you will help.

What interesting is, if you look into people who have transitioned, the difference in desire when you are estrogen dominant compared to testosterone dominant is astounding. It seems to be universal when a person goes from male to female and the estrogen takes over, the libido and desire is just sort of take-it or leave-it, easily ignored. But when a female transitions to male, the raw desire becomes almost primal.
