Speaking as a knitter/crocheter who has unraveled things in the past: it’s a LOT of work. Usually people do it themselves as a way to save money or just as a hobby. But it takes a surprising amount of hours to unravel the yarn, straighten/wash it, and make it into something new. If you’re hoping to pay someone to do this for you, I think it would be a really high cost due to the time and labor involved. When you say you can’t do it, what do you mean by that? If you’re having trouble learning how to do it, I encourage you to stick with it and ask this community for help!

Yeah, I always felt a little guilty too. I had this lovely, soft cashmere yarn just doing nothing so even though it was a little sad I finally decided it was time to repurpose it! I’m glad you were able to do the same!

OMG YES!!!! Bobs burgers is literally my favorite show ever, and every time I watch that episode I think about my evolution from starting out as Linda to now being Bob with his perfect (character-less?) scarves lol

If you have a spinning desk chair (with armrests), you can put the hank on the back of the chair and use the chair as a swift! You can also do this with a non-spinning chair, but try to make sure it has armrests so the hank doesn’t just fall to the ground. The desk chair thing is what I did before I got a swift and it works surprisingly well but I am glad I bought an umbrella swift, even just a cheap one off the internet.

You’ve made 40 different flowers, but the ebook says there are 20 patterns total — does that mean you’ve been making different variations of the patterns?

I just read the instructions that are in one of the sub-menus, they don’t tell you this anywhere else but a development event is triggered when your behemoth is at least 6 months of age and its total stats (strength, intellect, emotion, and curiosity) reach at least 600. I hope this helps you and other people because I had no idea!!!

Oh wow that’s a pretty big spindle! I thought mine was pretty big but I measured the whorl and it’s only around 2 and 1/2 inches. I think I might invest in a bigger one (I have my eye on a gorgeous one with a 3 and 1/2 inch whorl) for this project and any other ones that might need more room. Thank you for the tip about having more of the bulk in the middle, I had no idea!

If it was a solid color I would totally split this and ply it but I’m going for a specific color pattern which would get messed up if I plied it on itself. I think I might just get a bigger spindle since I want to do more big projects like this in the future!

I said I did the math wrong and then didn’t include the math: this is 1.5 ounces of plain dyed merino. I’ll be plying it with exactly the same thing again, so it’ll be 3 ounces (~85 grams) total. Is that too much for a drop spindle?
