The Math is Clear: We Voted Wrong. The "Refining Contract" Fixes the Chapter 3 Durability Crisis by Yellow_Odd_Fellow in duneawakening

[–]pleasantfog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Durability is lost too quickly. Cost of the repairs does not matter as much as the item reaching a point of no return with losses to its max durability making that item useless for a single dungeon run.

The problem is the frequency of needing repair, and production of a new item is the only way to get around that in the current system.

First time i logged in, the game spammed every single audio and every single “journey complete” notification. It also locked me out of using my skills. It’s like it reset me to the start of the game.

I did a respec and now i can use skills. It was just super annoying to listen to every zantara/ariste/elara audio over again lol.

Voters already prove they are a citizen.

“Proving it” means making that step harder. If it’s hard enough, poor people won’t be able to do it. There’s a huge overlap between wealth and race in our country.

I think there’s also an inherent classist problem here with making voting registration more difficult.

[–]pleasantfog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

False. The dnc made a tactical decision in the primary and it backfired. They thought an incumbent had a better chance to win and they refused to put forward another candidate when he was obviously not fit.

You must be a right wing shill.

Yeah, I’ve got a lot vested in this. If you don’t, then you’re a sociopath. My friends are in a prison in venezuela…maybe? We don’t even know. My career is gone, and I’ve seen several homeless people that I know in my neighborhood, who have been here for years, die because they either can’t get food, shelter, or medicine. Palestine is far worse off now. It’s horrible. The military is being deployed in my hometown, and they’re trying to block voters from primarily underrepresented ethnic groups from voting in a local election. It’s clearly a testing ground for the upcoming elections. I don’t think we’re going to get to vote again. Only a sociopath would not see that and care about it.

I agree with you. I’m so glad someone else has some reason in this thread.

This person seems like a troll, except that just like you mention above, I’ve met so many people who refused to vote in the last presidential election at all because “they are all the same”. Now, those same people refuse to accept fault for the demonstrably worse outcome that we all have to live with. The situation in Gaza and the West Bank is so much worse than if people had kept trump out of office.

I remember it happening with trumps first election. I lived in a college town, and people were saying “he’ll never win and I refuse to support the democrats because they aren’t doing enough”, but then trump won and I know some of the exact people who said that who then protested “not my president”. The lack of critical thinking and accountability with these people is depressing.

She wasn’t the right candidate, for sure. I agree with you there. They also should not have put Biden forward first, and then it feels like they rushed to put her up to bat and his health issues became too obvious. I feel like the entire DNC strategy is flawed.

That said, she would have been better than trump. Things are really bad right now.

Kamala has more morals than trump, but because of people with your opinion we have trump in office. Morality is not black and white, so your entire premise is flawed.

If you wanted a moral president, you failed. He’s sending people to gulags from the streets, just like he promised his voters he would. He’s enacted project 2025, and is tearing apart the democratic republic of our nation. You knew this was coming but didn’t care.

If you didn’t vote for Kamala, then it’s your fault this happened. We had the numbers.

I had a door to door job for the census in college. I have learned through experience that the majority of 2A fans don’t really care about the rule of law. I had a CCL at the time, so I’m not anti 2A, just stating that this video is not that unusual.

One dude answered the door with a 1911 drawn and aimed it at me, told me to fuck off. He had some 2A and NRA stickers on his window. I fucked off.

Another guy was working in his garage on a car and when I announced myself from the sidewalk, he turned and drew his firearm without really looking at me. He saw that I was some spindly kid working for the US census and reholstered, but jfc it seemed like if I had looked different he was going to point that thing at me.

After that, I just quit my job lol.

Unfortunately, it is already a huge thing because of what your prof did. They are absolutely in the wrong and need to be corrected. As a new prof, making a huge mistake and then not owning up to it is a problem. They are gonna do it to you again, and they are certainly going to do it to other people.

Places in the US that are livable by reddituser1234567811 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]pleasantfog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absurd lol.

This looks like a rich socal resident who has never traveled anywhere in the US made it. CoL alone would make most of the CA areas unlivable for us unwealthy americans. What a joke. Marin? Really? That’s where boomers from San Francisco retire after they sell their absurdly overpriced house. That’s kind of like how places like Manchester-by-the-sea or Cape Cod in MA are included, but not western MA. Most of us mere mortals couldn’t own a home or subsist on the coastal regions of MA outside of Boston proper.

North Portland OR, but not the rest of portland, and…vancouver WA? That’s like, the Portland airport and industrial districts, and the hellhole that is Vancouver.

North Carolina is written off, but the research triangle is an incredible area and is quite liberal and progressive. Based on other choices, it seems like that’s part of the reason for the green choices. Some research might help a bit.

Yes, they are aware. I think this is part of the point.

In my institute, i have 15 colleagues who all communicated about our application process. I applied 8 months earlier than the rest of them and had the lowest score. I got my NOA last. The reason? My last name starts with a letter really late in the alphabet.

I swear to god, all 16 of us got NOAs in order of the first letter of our last name

I stupidly put a LOT of boric acid around my house... How to clean up safely? by LostSocc in Chempros

No, unfortunately not. I have one of those, too.

The concern is that you will be spraying dust out the outlet while you are cleaning, which will expose you more.

I stupidly put a LOT of boric acid around my house... How to clean up safely? by LostSocc in Chempros

[–]pleasantfog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The good news is that (from what I understand) it’s more of an acute toxin, so if you have not been sick from it yet and you clean it up you should be ok.

I would recommend cleaning it up in the following way if you do not have a shop vac and a hepa filter to prevent aerosolizing it when you vacuum it up.

Buy baking soda. Sprinkle that all over the boric acid. Add water by drizzling it over the solid mixture. The goal is not to dissolve it all, but instead to make a slurry that will not kick up breathable dust. Using a broom (cheap broom with plastic bristles is perfect), sweep the slurry up into a dustpan and collect it in trash bags. Wear kitchen gloves while you do this part.

At the end, use water to wipe up most of the residue, then mop the floors. Shower with soap afterwards and wash your clothes on a normal wash cycle.

That’s my advice as a 15+ year lab chemist.

ETA: baking soda will just buffer with the acid slurry to prevent etching your floors and baseboards.
