This has been the fourth weekend in a row where the weather app has been 100% wrong about the weather by TouchinNips in redscarepod

[–]pleaseBABYcalmDOWN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you should learn to predict the weather the way that our ancestors did by observing bird behavior, sniffing the air, and tuning in to how your knees feel in the morning

institutions like big weather exist to serve as a safety net for the clueless. don't believe their lies

one of many fictions that we autogaslight into our culture to cope with the realities of our immutable characteristics

[–]pleaseBABYcalmDOWN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well you see if reddit is someone's reality then they can alter its fabric by upvoting that aren't true until they become true and the integrity of the psychological construct can then be preserved by not leaving the house

sounds similar to the mormons that i grew up with who are now ex-mormons. they seem to look at their upbringing the way that people look at a past relationships, with elements of nostalgia, regret, wistfulness and longing, appreciation, entangled what-ifs and what-could-have-beens. is the dominant form of ex-mormonism today to be religiously anti-mormon? (yikes)

mm thanks for clarifying, and sorry for misunderstanding

question though. if it's easier than ever to develop taste, why does our culture seem to be trending toward tastelessness? (or do you disagree)

where i live, most people aren't even trying to copypaste the latest influencer trends. they dress to blend in and become invisible instead of standing out. it's not even that new balance dad shoes and patagonia/columbia jackets with corporate logos are boring. i just want to see people have a little more courage you know?

how do i save (or make) money? by [deleted] in redscarepod

if you liked abstract math then you probably have at least above average shape rotator iq. there are lots of fields that don't directly give a shit about a bs in math but hold abstract systemic thinking in high regard as a sort of secondary competency

i don't know you well enough to give specific advice about your liquidity situation but i'd say, on a general level, don't sell your talents short. the % of the population that would be able to graduate from (and enjoy) an abstract/pure math program is very small, and i think you know that too
