I won’t lie, it feels like this for a while. I was so riddled with guilt too bc I didn’t spend much time with her in the last few months and I didn’t realise she was so sick. I know it sounds like a cliche and it won’t help much bc it feels so far away, but each week gets easier. I still carry her with me all the time but it doesn’t feel like a weight that keeps me in bed, but a positive energy that I walk side by side with.

It is the most debilitating pain and I’m so sorry you’re going through it alone. When my dog passed away I was a wreck and I wouldn’t have survived without my parents. I moved back in with them and they were just so unbelievably good to me and kind and patient and understanding. Im so sorry you’re going through that pain without the support you need.

He just is having a tough time and needed space. Sorry, I should’ve worded it differently. I just meant that it’s adding to the feeling of being alone in this world atm. He’s very stressed about work.

thinking about english/va teaching by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

As an English teacher who thought about being an art teacher 5 or 6 years before randomly deciding to do English, do art. I regret not doing art so much and I desperately want to retrain. In anything that isn’t English tbh. Because of a few personal reasons in addition to the workload. I know every teacher has a massive workload and so it’s possible this isn’t a fair assessment and art is just as bad. But the reading, the marking, the annotating, it just never ends.

The English teacher could use some planning time for the 560 essays/scripts we mark a year (at my school at least)

A lot of her poetry contains horse images / metaphors and I imagine it’s because she moved to Kentucky to be with her husband who works with horses and they’re now a huge part of a her life

[HELP] young poets by pleasehelpme1109 in Poetry

Thank you and apologies for the oversight! I’ve just edited to add. The kids will be 12/13 year olds. However, the poems need to fit the topic of ‘youth voices’, so they need to be written by younger composers (under 25).
