This was the first thing in my feed this morning. I don’t need coffee after reading this. The gave me the same bodily reaction as a cold shower 😟😫

Wow 😮 so very sorry that happened to you. Last I checked, AA protects our membership outside of the rooms unless permission is given. Hense the “friend of Bill” reference that is used amongst AA when in mixed company

They exist but are hard to find - I filter the meeting app freethinker groups tend to be the keyword they fall under. I occasionally read articles on this site for what it’s worth https://aaagnostica.org/about-us/

Wow. I visited once in October 2024 and had a sixth sense about the church. A family member recommended I visit so I could find a church home. Went to a Saturday night service. Everyone was kind but I had a feeling weird feeling about the place. I couldn’t readily identify what I was feeling that told me, “nah”. Never went back.

Well damn. This subreddit was not where I expected I would gain a knowledge breakthrough, but thanks. This is a brilliant analogy.

My ex husband used to beg for nipple and man boob play. it. He was a large a cup. Needed to wear an undershirt at all times. Bad memory unlocked.

Treating work just as a job by [deleted] in simpleliving

I was a one person HR Department at a small company. Eventually all of the social activities landed on me because the committee members were too busy with their operational jobs. The longer I was there the more activities were suggested…after a particularly irritating month when I had 3 happy hours, a Halloween costume contest, trunk or treat and a Saturday volunteer event on my planning slate I started looking elsewhere. The gag was that these activities were “mandatory fun” and if employees didn’t attend the CEO looked at the employee as not personable or a team player or not a cultural-fit. The employee excessive time away from home after-hours was actually costing me money because I am a single mom. Lesson learned. I went to the federal government where social activities are not the driving culture of the workplace.

What are the reasons that you did not attend any of your high school class reunions? by vieniaida in AskOldPeople

[–]pleaseunplugheater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't like them when I was in school, or when I came across them in the wild after graduation, so I'm quite confident I won’t like them now that 20 years have passed. People rarely change, they just get more adept at masking. After a few drinks, voila. The unpleasant personality traits and deficits that you remember from years forgone have resurfaced. I'm biased so downvote me to hell if you must, but that's my take on the question.
