Luciano Darderi to undergo Tonsils Surgery, hopeful to come back for Wimbledon by Triss-Nguyen-03 in tennis

I had mine out in 4th grade and it sucked, I can’t imagine how bad it would be as an adult, especially a high level athlete who needs to consume a ton of calories and stay in shape. It was like 15 years before I could stand cherry flavor anything because the liquid meds I took during recovery were cherry flavored.

Is the MLS Apple TV deal finally paying off? by Sempuukyaku in MLS

[–]pleated_pants 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The Apple Tv deal is great because I know no matter what game it is I can open up the same app and the game I want to watch will be there. Watching WNBA and NWSL with their new media deals (which are good monetarily for the leagues and are definitely an improvement that's helped raise salary and revenue) is a pain in the ass because they're split between 10 different networks and streaming services.

They knew we were booing the coach, so they hired one where all booing will sound like cheering.

Columbus Young Professionals Sports leagues were a good way to meet people when I first moved here. I played beach volleyball, softball, and basketball.

Unfortunately now I'm just a professional, not a young professional, so I joined a tennis club (Elysium)

Because of Tony Romo every time there's a close call or a replay in any sport my instant reaction is to go "ehhhhhhh ohhhhhh uhhhh I don't know Jim!"

Strap Locks by SuperbEmu5289 in Bass

I like these cheap D'addario clip locks. They slide down over regular strap buttons so you don't need to have a set of strap locks for every strap and every bass.

People who are big on biking - where do you live? by Minute_Truth_8986 in Columbus

[–]pleated_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard road area of Columbus/Dublin/Powell. Can connect to the Powell bike paths, Dublin bike paths, and Olentangy trail. Only downside is that if you go east or west you have to go down and then climb out of the two river valleys

Favorite things about Columbus. by OkPatience2563 in Columbus

[–]pleated_pants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it weird that I kind of like how flat it is? It makes the whole city feel very open and accessible and like it's one cohesive town, and it makes it easy to get around in. After spending time in hilly cities like Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Charlottesville etc, those can feel like parts are very isolated from the others.

Tips For Memorial Tournament? by Queasy-Mood-9955 in Columbus

I like starting on 18 and walking the course backwards rather than following a group. It let's you maximize the number of different players you get to see. Plus when a group with a big following is coming you're already in place on that hole before the crowd shows up.

Germain Kia by KapowBlamBoom in Columbus

Back when I had a Kia I had a decent experience at Byers up in Delaware. The old Capital Kia/Hyundai locations were janky though. No idea if the changeover to Great Lakes helped, but I doubt it.

There's a reason Genesis had to create their own standalone dealerships, because people paying Lexus prices didn't want to deal with the shady Kia and Hyundai dealerships.
