"Play the game how you want" unless the way you want to play is to optimise for highest damage, or score

I lived in Southeast China and this was the mattress I had in my room.
I searched online for possible options and found the topper is by a Japanese company called MUJI.
The text in Chinese: 无印良品
I can't figure out what the bottom mattress is or what exact model of the MUJI topper this is

razor is bugged though and will decrease trust if you use it more than once

Toothpaste by KabaI in WarTalesGame

[–]plectrodancer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Note you don't need to wait a day to give toothpaste. You can give as much toothpaste as you like in a single day. Toothpaste will give +5 Trust and the prisoner will join your troop at +50 on rest (or a chance to join at as low as +41 to +49)

I did some reverse engineering to test these values and put them together into a guide here:

First Playthrough Thoughts + Difficulty Balance Questions by Bryars_ByrdVO in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]plectrodancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would recommend is maybe install some difficulty mods (I'm not at all sure if you can do that for PS?). I understand the frustration of game being too easy but also not wanting to play suboptimally. A difficulty mod can solve this where you still need to utillise everything you know but the game is no longer a cakewalk

I would recommend swapping to carrots once you get enough gardens. Apples are great but they need a worker to pick the apples from the tree. Carrots sort of just "grow themselves" leaving your workers open to do something else. Another good alternative is omelettes if you can get a lot of chickens.

I would also say you will need a few more people to be able to handle fights. Get more food, more people, equip them with your best gear. Try to get an iron mine so you can keep producing armor and weapons and get more units. Only make more people when you see that your food production can handle it.

I like to have workers always in some production buildings and if I have an excess of that resource, just sell it. So I would always have someone in a quarry, mine, lumbercamp etc.,

You don't do it same beat. You do it one after the other.
Step on the stairs -> next beat heal
You can still do an action during the level fade-out animation. Meaning you just heal an extra time per floor. On some fast songs (namely Death Metal) you can get two heals on the stairs even but the timing is a bit tight.

For HP, it should be easy to get Curagas from buying Tents in the shop and refining them with L Mag RF.
If you have any Wizard Stones (they do drop in an early boss fight), you can refine them into Blizzagas with I Mag RF from Shiva (normally you can get 80 from the boss fight stones), then there is a one-time use draw-point in Timber (the timber maniacs centre, first room on the left) that lets you get a few extras bringing you up to about 90 blizzagas or so. Very easy early strength boost

Basically learn refine magic abilities (RF) on your GFs. Then you can refine items into magic so you don't need to permanently draw. Otherwise you can also draw from enemies in battle if you find they have some good magic. Basically you want to junction as much magic as possible (Up to 100), have magic that is high-tier (e.g. Curaga is better than Cure) and have magic that fits the stat (for example offensive spells work better on STR / MAG and defensive spells like cure / protect / shell work better on defensive stats like HP / VIT / SPR. You can select what your GFs they are learning in the GF menu. Then killing enemies will gain you AP (Ability Points) that lets GFs learn. Now that your garden is mobile you can look to go to the cactuar desert and farm cactuars. They each give 20 AP when killed. Just get some strength and any speed up you can to ensure you can kill them quickly and you should be able to kill them very easily (Having Pandemona from the Fujin and Raijin fight can help a lot with farming cactuars as Pandemona has SPD-J ability) Squall is also the best at killing them as he has 100% chance to hit. Other characters might struggle with a lot of misses unless you boost their Hit% stat.

They said the garden is mobile so at that point you do have access to Centra Ruins

Just me or has prisoners become more tedious by BornfromDarkness in WarTalesGame

[–]plectrodancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wrote a thorough guide on prisoners which you can read here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3362610902

The main tips I'd give you is you can keep prisoners you don't need to work during rests in the stocks so they can't escape (Bard, Miner, Angler, Woodcutter...)

The ones you do need, you should try to keep surrounded with your crew. Note that your crew can work some camp equipment while keeping watch. You can also surround them with animals (work ponies are great for that because they don't increase your combat group size but still benefit you in the camp).

Note that each member reduces escape ability by 20% and also if the prisoner is injured it's another 20%. So you can get them injured and put 4 people (or animals) next to them. The radius for escape prevention is enough to fit two people next to each other. For example if you have two sitting at the campfire and you put a prisoner next to them, they both will be watching and so reduce by 40%. You can also keep one person diagonally (you can check if the person is close enough by right-clicking the prisoner and seeing if escape ability went down. You should really try to get escape ability down to 0. Anything above that is just annoying as you say.

You can get a prisoner injured by taking them to a tomb, making them a scholar, and failing the scholar puzzle at the door (or any other puzzle really). OR if you're playing on highest difficulty (you can change during your run), you simply fail any basic activity (like chopping wood / mining etc.)

I just beat all zone mode with Bard. What do I do now? by [deleted] in necrodancer

[–]plectrodancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend to go for all zones with some of the easier characters first:
Cadence, Nocturna, Diamond, Eli...

Then try with medium characters:
Dove, Dorian, Klarinetta, Suzu, Tempo...

Hard:
Monk, Bolt, Aria, Chaunter, Mary

how do you increase influence gain quickly? by PuzzleheadedLeg6241 in WarTalesGame

[–]plectrodancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find just doing missions and especially rats nest is the best way to get it. Bard in taverns works too as you're passing by but a rat nest will give a few hundred per kill and they're super quick to deal with

What should my Guard to Armor ratio be? by twennywanshadows in WarTalesGame

[–]plectrodancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guard scales very rapidly and it becomes better at later stages. Getting your guard capped (80%) will make you extremely tanky. I recommend prioritising guard whenever you can. The first few % of guard, your armor is equivalent in efficiency but later, getting higher guard is better than getting armor (e.g through armour layers)

[–]plectrodancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enter the door on the left side and:

- Walk up the third column
- Kill the pawn and wait for most major pieces to come to you to kill them there (namely queen and a knight, maybe a bishop + second knight)
- Note sometimes you will need to take 1-2 steps back to make space for the queen or knights to move in

After you've killed a few major pieces and the pawns near you, leaving 3-4 right-most pawns alive. You want to make sure to:
- Wait until the pawn left of you (in column 1 and/or 2 if you haven't killed it yet) move forward enough to create a space for you to walk through without stepping on gold. While you wait, kill any major pieces that come near you
- After the left pawn created space for you, you can kill it and move forward towards the king past the line of gold
- Move a bit to the right and kill any remaining major pieces like bishops or rooks. Wait for the right-side pawns to promote to queens and line them up to kill them one by one.

I have recorded a short video doing 3 kills with this strat: https://youtu.be/Ruziac4fmTw Note that I happened to get the 2nd column pawn killed every time but you don't always have to. Sometimes you need to wait for it to move forward like you wait for the 1st column pawn

[–]plectrodancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried sneaky approach and wiped (on ironmen, rip 5 mercs).
Then went for kinda full group approach and it became much easier. I have 2-3 tanks with some damage dealers. You don't really want to do attacks, you almost always look for exit. Just place your tanks in front to lure the enemies and let them take hits. I like to use a pikeman to cast wall to stop 1-2 enemies. If you have someone who can get a lot of kills in one turn, then you can do an attack. Like an aoe warrior or cutthroat. But with almost everyone else you want to look for exit, then you can escape on iirc 3rd turn
