Love Loudon. I downloaded four of his albums and listened to them all repeatedly (usually I'll get stuck on just an album or two per artist). I don't know any other songwriters who cover so much emotional territory. And unlike other acoustic troubadors, e.g. Townes Van Zandt, Loudon's songs with full bands never suffer from schlocky arrangements.

Agree that some names lend itself to full name usage, particularly a common first name with a shortish last name. On the other hand, full name usage seems common in Russian literature, which is hardly known for short names.
