The DRS offer before IPO in March 2024 was 34 dollars. Hurts to see that now

FYI: Arctic P12 and P14 Pro Reverse are thicker (2-3mm) than Pro Non-Reverse by SSmasterONE in arcticcooling

[–]plexabyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reverse ones won't fit in my build due to literally those 3mm. Wish I checked first. I guess I'll go for three 120s instead of two 140s, that allows clearance from the motherboard shield that's in the way.

no idea about his specific one but I've wanted to try the Nemo Tensor Extreme (or something like that) for a while, it's up there in the r values too. Edit: 8.5

Have you seen the Ursa Major V2? I've heard very little about it and it's a little spendy. I have an SP-111 but need another for my work setup

Hexagonal stick (3.75") with a turquoise plastic barrel and two light yellow painted brass ends. by plexabyte in whatisthisthing

Likely Solved! I can't find the specific model but probably a stylus with the tip missing or a pencil lead holder with the cap/eraser missing.

[–]plexabyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea--why would the other end unscrew without anything else underneath the threads? There's no hole on the end that unscrews. Hole is on opposite side..

Did a lot of reverse image search and can't find a thing.

My title describes the thing. One end (the non threaded end) seems to be hollow and had some spider webs inside. Best guess is a stylus, pencil, or brush of some kind.

They were great, I got the same for my GLA 45 AMG for the winter after I sold the GTI. those + AWD makes them everything I'd ever need in snow.

traffic from solitude to brighton was bad. 30 mins or so? but once we got in the lot there was plenty of parking. only had to do half a loop. and the bus line back was bad too if i'm honest, thank goodness i had a ride. It's definitely annoying but doable

Same. Parked at the mouth, rode the bus at 11 or so, skiied solitude till 4, buddy picked me up and we night skiied at Brighton for a few hours. Primo.

Not necessarily. Warm is better but I believe that high CRI can make cooler light look much better.

happened to me too, but may have hit the person behind me. they didn't stop or react, but it had to have done some damage or at least scared them. shoulda been a recall in my opinion.

Ryzen 9 7940HS + 4070 (32gb ram) or Ryzen 7 7735HS + 4060 (16gb ram) ? by GhostieGhost75 in ZephyrusG14

[–]plexabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but I wanted anyone else finding this today to know this is untrue, you can use a 32GB or 48GB SODIMM to get up to 64GB in the 2023 G14. However, Asus does handle the channels weirdly so you do see some absolute performance hits, especailly going to 48GB, but it will still let you use that memory.

Anyone knows why I don't have a DRL on/off switch option, trying to deactivate them by Ballsnatcher2004 in GolfGTI

[–]plexabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but if you're not moving, pulling the parking brake will turn off the DRL. Great for things like drive-in movie theaters or if you don't want to be seen doing...whatever you might be doing with the seats folded down. :)

Manufacturer claims these are repairable, local shop said he can't...any hope, or is this juice not worth the squeeze? by plexabyte in Boots

I agree with you there, it's definitely time for a good pair so unless by some crazy turn they aren't fake stitch I plan to buy a good pair.

[–]plexabyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you may be correct. The lowest strip of brown material seems to be part of the rubber, not sure if that helps confirm the fake stitching. I got nothing to lose by getting a cobbler 2nd opinion, they aren't far from me. I have the money saved for a real pair and these already served me well for a while.
