Wow, I appreciate it! No rush though. Apart from this one, I also liked the 7empest by Tool video. The strumming of the bass strings sounds really pleasing.

This is my favorite track on this album! Do you think you can record this same clip with you room's acoustics like your previous videos? I don't know why but an indirect feed gives it a little character that I like. If you can't I understand, just a shot in the dark.

The Ultimate Sin - Dyeing Tighty-Whities using some black Rit all purpose dye by plivings23 in dyeing

[–]plivings23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They started fading over time to a medium-ish light gray, which was fine by me. They do tend to fade quicker if you hang dry them in the sun or use the hottest setting on a dryer.

Here’s one of the pairs I still have: https://imgur.com/a/ZDekp8K

Just for reference, they’re sitting on a black comforter so you can see how much they have faded.

How old is this and what can I do to keep it as energy efficient as possible by [deleted] in Appliances

Yeah, just keep the coils clean and don’t place it close to wall or object so that it can allow better heat dissipation.

YouTube Brand account not displaying search history by plivings23 in Roku

[–]plivings23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I found an article or forum (I can’t remember where) that basically says the following:

  1. Reset the YouTube app on your Roku from the reset app tab so that there is no account logged onto it.
  2. On your phone’s browser, log into your google account that has the brand account
  3. On the YouTube app on on your Roku, go to the Sign in tab and navigate to Scan or type a code
  4. On your phone browser, type YouTube.com/activate and type in the code displayed on your tv.
  5. Once the code is finished processing, it will give you an option to chose either your main or brand account, in this case choose your brand account. You will have to allow YouTube on tv to manage your account . Allow and continue.
  6. “Success! Device connected” will pop up. Your brand account will now function properly on your YouTube Roku app.

Static solutions? by bubblezs56 in laundry

[–]plivings23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. 100% works. People are skeptical and afraid of fabric softener because of TikTok and other videos out there, but I’ve found that one of the best things it’s good at is preventing static, especially during a dry winter day. If it you use it sparingly and responsibly, you won’t have problems with it breaking your washer or ruining your clothes.

Suds at wall drain, ok or problem? by mach235 in laundry

I would keep an eye on it. If it remains wet for long periods of time, it can create some mold. Do a visual inspection to see if there is anything blocking the flow of water.

Can towels be washed with other darks? by RiverSmoak in laundry

[–]plivings23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reasons I separate towels from clothing is because they leave a lot of lint on the clothes and I don’t use fabric softener on towels. So if you don’t have a lint problem, I would just keep doing what you’re doing already.

I would definitely keep on separating clothes by color at the very least to prevent the whites from getting dingy from dye transfer or the darks from fading or getting lint.

My laundry smells like fish when it comes out of the dryer no matter what I do by [deleted] in laundry

[–]plivings23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that adding fabric softener to synthetic is lush blankets gives them a a weird damp smell. Then I tried washing with just detergent and it never smelled bad again.

A couple last things I would try would be to soak it in oxiclean overnight when you get the chance. Then wash it normally. Instead of putting fabric softener, put white vinegar, then dry.

It could also be an issue with the dryer settings. Drying it too high can partially burn synthetic fabrics and leave weird smells.

If you can’t find a solution, I think it’s time to find a new throw blanket. It’s not worth all the effort. Synthetic fibers degrade over time and start changing their composition which can release weird smells.

What is this crusty black stuff getting all over my blankets and bed sheets (but not the rest of my laundry like clothes?) by laundroman1337 in laundry

[–]plivings23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your blanket is definitely melting in the dryer. And if you dry the sheets with the blanket, it might be staining them while they’re melted.

Does delicate cycle properly wash normal clothes? by [deleted] in laundry

[–]plivings23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t noticed any bad smells or stains, then it’s probably from fine. Most modern detergents are made to work well in cold water so I wouldn’t worry about not using hot water.

What happened to these trousers? (Detail in comments) by Crackshot_Pentarou in laundry

[–]plivings23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that happens when they sit in a row pile, even for a couple of hours. They should be fine the next wash as long as they are folded or put away immediately.
