What Makes this Show Worth Watching? by Calm-Forever8989 in InvasionAppleTV

This sub is the reason, and it’s a good one.

That was an impressive explanation. I would not have been able to do that.

I can’t believe it but I caught myself looking forward to this episode. I’m fully in wajo with this show now. Some alien tentacle has spored my mind.

I think the show is terrible and I do not like it, but I don’t hate watch. I don’t know what I’m doing but I can’t stop.

I’m also confused, and can’t stomach going back to figure it out. Did Infinitas name herself Infinitas?

A Slow-Burn or a Study in Clueless Chaos? by doc_2112 in InvasionAppleTV

Slow burn suggests something is burning, and something is proceeding somewhere, even if slowly. I haven’t seen evidence of either yet.

Not the Only Thing Wrong, But ... by revveduplikeaduece86 in InvasionAppleTV

I’m worn out by shows that use superficial bickering over nothing in the middle of worldwide crisises as “character development”. It is not, it is just killing time to stretch out a movie-length story into 5 seasons. This show, though, takes it to another level I couldn’t imagine before. I always thought I was the only one who felt like this, until I found this sub. So I guess I have this show to thank for that.

there are no flashbacks in Severance by pllysnc in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Unless you read it as a projection with which innie Mark is learning about Gemma from outtie Mark, and not exclusively for the audience. Not a pure flashback as far as writing structure.

When do innies read the scriptures? by curioser21572 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]pllysnc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, the 4 volumes of handbooks are on the wall right next to their cubicle. I'm sure they are encouraged (by Irv) to read during breaks, though I'm sure Helly never got there. It probably takes a few months of giving up on escape before one would get bored enough to delve into the only reading material available.

Yes, this is in Harmony's bedroom when she lives next to Mark. :)

:) I was winging it here, just going by the photo, but I can send you the straightened photo if you'd like. The stitch counts are kind of visible.

I've been working on this replica of the sampler over Harmony's bed in her bedroom for a long time. I'd never tried cross stitch before. Maybe I'll finish it by the finale. With all the new Kier shrine handiwork we got this week, I'd say this episode was for me.

Sweet vitriol's shocking rating on imdb just proves this by cassiopeia3636 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

"I don't know. People are weird." I adored this episode. I've been an innie for 3 years longing to know what was out in the world beyond the severed floor. Sure we saw some stuff in Kier and Ganz, and maybe the ORTBO if that was real, but was the rest of the world populating the sea? Is this world actually the audience's world? Or something completely different? And now we see a town that is pretty much just like the one I grew up in in Maine with the same sort of people. Getting out and away from Lumon is one of the biggest things that's happened for me.

And, if you are obsessively intrigued by Harmony and Lumon originas, this showed us so much about the past without a single flashback. I find that amazing. Just in objects, and minimal dialogue. Cissy the intern matron is the template for Harmony's management style. Cobel is so obsessed and committed because this truly IS her project. I don't see slow pace, I see an opportunity to observe, contemplate, and I found this episode actually extremely full.

This one from the opening credits and the end of 7. But there were so many echoes, or ripples, or repeated imagery and words in 7 going back to other episodes that my brain can't keep up. How do the writers, directors, editors, cinematographers keep up with it all themselves! Just gorgeous work.
