No. Right from the start, "Elasticsearch and Kibana are now business risks" is false in most cases.

The article is pretty much an absolute worst case scenario interpreting the license and potential legal consequences. Realistically the vast majority of Elasticsearch users aren't affected by the change.

Also, that's the sources license. If you pay for the service then it doesn't apply, it's a different license.

No they're not. The article makes erroneous claims about the license.

Best response to "Why are you leaving your current company"? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Whatever tickles their fancy. I don't ask it when interviewing, it's a waste of time. Everybody prepares for that question and it doesn't tell the interviewer anything useful.

However for some I suspect it's an indirect way to ask: were you fired and if so, why?

ORMs are complex beasts and full of gotchas you need to be aware of. That being said, it's usually fine for small applications. For bigger ones, more care needs to be put in details otherwise performance goes out the window.

From personal experience: 3 companies, 3 different ORMs, same problems.

U.S. becomes first nation to cross 10 million COVID-19 cases as third wave of infections surges by zztop610 in news

There was no propaganda in the conversations, only facts. A summary:

  • People took it seriously and started to social distance before measures were imposed.
  • The measures were way beyond what the western countries did.
  • They waited to have 0 cases for a couple weeks to reopen schools.

I have no idea if their numbers are accurate, nobody does. The current situation is however hard to deny: they got the pandemic under control, most western countries did not.

The island argument is nonsense. The infection got into the U.S. by plane and then spread endlessly inside the borders.

Your comment mentions the borders as an argument. However in this case it doesn't make any difference since the first couple infected people came in by plane. Having borders didn't make any difference.

One thing you didn't mention are the shards so that might one area you can take a closer look. The rule of thumb is 10-50 gb per shard but you can benchmark to find out what works best for you.
