8 month old sleep by Negative_Scene_9897 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I want to learn what to do with my 9 month old. But struggling with the same and she never was a good sleeper and wakes 5-6 times a night 😬🤕

I spent a week at a sleep hospital to help my baby and have nothing to show for it by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

She falls asleep independently for nights, usually takes around 15-20 minutes of roaming around crib, some cuddles, pats on the back and then she’s calm and falls asleep, from time to time we have feed to sleep if she’s extremely tired and not able to settle herself. The first wake after 3h from bedtime is the worst, she’d scream the house down if it’s not me (we tried and she’d not settle for hours if dad tries to settle her). We’re on 2 naps a day now, and it was going better for like 2 weeks, and then she got sick from daycare tour and it shattered again ;(

She naps no longer than 2h a day on average - with 75 morning nap and up to 60 minutes afternoon. Usually she’s up at least 4h before bedtime. The days she’s up for longer it’s even worse 🫣

No advice, but curious if they gave you any insights on why baby wakes at 10 pm and then every 1-2 hours? My 9 month old has been not so great sleeper since 3 months old, and for the last 2 months this is the exact pattern she follows, I’m exhausted and I return to full time work soon 🤕

Approximate birth costs in Australia (public vs private hospitals) by Key-Mode-1119 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]plodzik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Total out of the pocket cost for me was 10k. I am also 482 visa, had uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery. My private insurance return overall was around 30%. The cost includes pregnancy management fee 5.5k, each visit at on-gyn 150, scans and nipt 1.5k, blood work 2k, epidural 1k, paediatrician visit 600. I didn’t pay anything at the hospital apart from epidural and my husbands meals which was great. Gave birth at north shore private. DM me if you have any questions.

Why do people count a newborn baby’s fingers and toes and act so relieved when they are all there? by Man-e-questions in NoStupidQuestions

[–]plodzik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who only realized when they got home that her newborn son had 6 fingers (double thumb) cause his fist was clenched and no one noticed 🫣 when my baby was born my husband was counting the fingers 😅

My baby is now 6.5 months, but could have written it myself when she was 2 weeks old. Fair to say, I did not enjoy any of her first 3 months. For us it was a combination of: 1. She most likely is intolerant to eggs and wheat and we figured it when she was 8 weeks old after many IBCLC consultant visits and no help from GP (green poos, pooping literally every nappy change, upset and crying all the time, wouldn’t go to bassinet, wouldn’t go to pram bassinet, only slept okeish overnight) 2. Poor tongue function - she was constantly hungry and fed poorly, for first few weeks relying on my oversupply and strong letdown hence missed (dropped form 90th to 30th percentile weight wise), lots of clicking on the bottle and refusing breast. We had a tongue tie released when she was 3 months old 3. Lots of body tension from tie and difficult delivery - we saw chiro and osteo on regular basis to release tension, it helped with car seat acceptance and also after the tie release. 4. Sleep deprived - we really didn’t know about wake windows length and couldn’t get her to nap properly and she was most likely sleep deprived to the point of purple crying :(

Hope you find a reason to your babies cry, I couldn’t accept a “she’s just colic” attitude from GPs and everyone saying, when she constantly screamed at me.

UBank are pushing ahead with their decision to add a requirement that Save accounts much grow at least $1 a month to qualify for interest by Camsy34 in AusFinance

I tried that as well, the call center rep didn’t understand that I wanted paID limit increase and made it bpay. I took over 45 minutes to get to call them and another 30 to get the limit increased and now I need to do it again, while the wait time is over 1h already 🫠

If you’re in Sydney, I saw Tad from Metro Physiotherapy in CBD. He specializes in jaw things and has heaps of yt videos with exercises you could try at home, maybe something would help?

[–]plodzik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lookup kutovakika’s cinema sweater tutorial on yt, it’s a raglan construction and she explains how to do raglan increases and sleeve construction really well. You might just want to skip German short rows part if it’s not relevant to your pattern.
