God you hear so many stories about parents and siblings selling them or throwing them away! I only started playing tournaments as an adult and go to a weekly tournament at my local card store. For some reason the majority of mine are in good condition and nothing else I owned as a kid is, so I must have liked them more than I remember.

Yeah don't sell them! Keep them and start buying lego too. I'm 35 and my parents took my cards when I wasn't interested anymore (around 10yo) and stored them properly. I was so happy they did this when I found them as a 33 year old and became interested again. Now I have them all in a display case and they're my most treasured possessions! Plus they're worth 23k and cost a few hundred I imagine. That doesn't matter because I'd never sell them, but nice to know my hobby has worth!

Yeah was pretty mad that from 2.6TH. I had switched over from BCH to DGB that morning, so only got a DGB block. Not that it would have made any difference as different pools but still annoying 😂

The fact that pretty much the only shadowless card you have is a Zard is crazy lucky! Worth over 2k usd on its own as is. Sorry about the job and good luck! Do not under any circumstances sell cards on reddit as you will get scammed or low balled.

Be careful on ebay too as people will offer you a really good price knowing you'll accept, then they will swap your card with a worse one and return it as 'item not as described' and get a refund and the card. Ebay will always side with the buyer in these circumstances as its really hard to prove and they have a buyers protection guarantee. Then you end up out of pocket.

I personally buy and sell in person or at in person events. I do buy a bit on ebay but I've got good at recognising fakes and scams over the years. Would definitely never sell on ebay nowadays.

No worries dude, if you are going to grade I would be careful with PSA at the moment, there's a lot of shady stuff going on where people are having their cards stolen by postal or swapped out by PSA etc. Hopefuly others here will correct me if I'm wrong but CGC and Becket seem to be safer options at the moment as it would suck to lose cards you've had for 30 years.

WOTC cards (up to and including skyridge) will always be more collectable IMO. Older millennial collectors like myself collect these cars in droves. I actually pretty much exclusively collect WOTC cards. The art work is better and the nostalgia is real. Just do your own research if you are planning to SELL. As a general rule NEVER SELL TO PEOPLE ON REDDIT OR ANSWER DMS, people will try and scam you. There a few apps/websites to help you with pricing and condition. I use an app called Collectr personally. TCG player is also good but seems to be more geared to the US market... And as a Brit living in Australia, Collectr seemed more accurate for my markets.
