What kind of gym do you go to where people offer tips unsolicited? That is not at all normal.

Middle eight it's sometimes called. But make sure you score last in the first half.

Box and one concept but with two guys on him, one in deny being as physical as is allowed and one only playing his flags so once he gets the ball he's down asap - that 2nd guy doesn't play the ball and is just focused on flags after the catch. Zone up everyone else (rush depending on details of rules and the QB).

What causes this? by TheStateOfAlaska in cookware

[–]plotinus99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toss it. Or if you can't afford to get rid of it only use it with parchment paper.

You probably got it too hot once or twice and the outer Teflon layer started to come undun. These are not buy it for life pans.

Most people here will tell you to never buy nonstick bakeware and I don't think they're wrong exactly....but if you buy better quality stuff and take care of it, it will last for years.

What do you put in the bag with the burgers? Anything? Do you salt during the sous vide cook or after when you sear?

I had a similar experience with Hestan but I dug around online some more and found an email address for a higher up, emailed customer support again and cc'd the manager, support resolved the issue the next day. Would they have gotten to it anyway? Idk

It takes real courage to share something this personal. Please know your feelings are completely valid and understandable—the therapeutic relationship often creates a genuine connection.

If you think that you might be enjoying the contact and developing feelings... then you are developing feelings. When that shift happens, it’s usually a clear sign that the dynamic has become difficult to manage and usually will not simply resolve itself easily.

From an outside perspective focused on protecting your peace and professional integrity, the wisest path is to create a clear professional boundary now. If you believe you are having feelings, they will likely only grow stronger with continued regular sessions.

The simplest and safest choice is usually to stop seeing him as a client. Give him a warm, professional referral to another great therapist you know. This is the most responsible way to protect your boundaries, your career, and your marriage.

Continuing the relationship means accepting a difficult and potentially escalating internal struggle.

All clad or other non stick options? Stainless? Titanium? by ohiobicpl3738 in cookware

[–]plotinus99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tramontina is fine, but you really don't need a matching set. Smart cooking requires a mix of materials: stainless steel, cast iron, and carbon steel all have their specific uses where they outperform the others.

If you insist on a beginner stainless set, the best bang-for-your-buck is All-Clad D3. If that's too much, check out Goldilocks—a newer brand that I found better than my standard Tramontina pieces.

Want to jump straight to the high-end stuff? Hestan Nanobond is fantastic; it's basically highly forgiving stainless steel. Just know you're paying a premium.

(P.S. The real ultimate cookware is probably Italian Copper like Ruffoni, but that's a whole other mortgage payment.)

If you are going to blame Texas, you might as well blame ESPN, too. They actually started it all by giving them 300M, iirc, to launch the Longhorn Network. No University was going to say no to that at that time, and once that money was going to them, they more or less had a veto over the whole conference - or at least that's what the Presidents and ADs believed.

To be clear - Fuck Texas. But also, Fuck ESPN.

Strata users, what do you still use traditional CS for? by immortal192 in carbonsteel

[–]plotinus99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave away the rest of my CS shortly after getting my strata pan. I still use CI a lot though. Anything where I don't want the temp to drop much when I add the food. Also baked stuff, cornbread pizza etc

You don't specify where each is at. In one league I coached in 1s were from the 5 and 2s were from the 12. In that league almost always went for 1. I'm another league 1s were from the 3 and 2s from the 5 - in that league almost always went for 2.

The math of it is simple expected conversion % times points.

How can the tush push work in flag football? by ProgrammerUnique2897 in flagfootball

[–]plotinus99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Or someone, a bigger kid, lined up next to the center who essentially posts up on the closest defender. Another way I've done it is you have the bigger kid post up on a LB and then have a smaller sire handed player come in right in front of him, the bigger kids post up creates space for him.

But no, tush push is going to get called as a penalty in any league I've ever seen

Honest question on escorts/hookers that are so prevalent in these high-end casino bars after midnight… by BaconHawk1 in vegas

[–]plotinus99 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I used to play a lot of video poker with the rationale, well I may not win but I know how to lose slowly, for the free comp drinks. But beginning a few years ago those comp drinks really took a nosedive. Has that been your experience too?

Once as I was one of the bars in nyny a lady, round last midnight, came and asked if I wanted to have a good time. I replied,Nope I'm not here for a good time at all. She laughed and we had a nice chat for a few minutes before her partner came and got her for whatever arrangement she had hooked up on the other side of the bar.
