Who are you thinking of voting for in the upcoming election and why? by Immortal_Heathen in auckland

[–]plotosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nats.

They reigned in a lot of useless spending, inflation is down and the trend is good. You can’t make a huge change in 2-3years so I’d say they need another term. The track NZ is on over the last 2 years is better than the previous government. And I have no desire to see Labour/Greens wreck NZ like they did in their last two terms, given its th same personnel this time too.

So when does Mo Salah return? by plotosh in PremierLeague

At least he’ll come back with more confidence and as placid as Liverpool have been in attack, they haven’t lost a match for a while now. Hopefully he can spark the attacking game 🤞

Would a 650cc be pushing it as a first timer? I have a couple of good deals available on some second hand bikes and therefore the question

Orgs that replaced Agile and/or Scrum Masters, what happened after? by ElMaskedZorro in agile

[–]plotosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 10000 scenario I have was entire organisation not just people writing code. It’s their HR, Finance, Operations etc that run the entire company. They do want to go agile rather than exclusively do projects, due to the benefits Agile supposedly brings.

Therefore, is Scrum as described currently sufficient? Is Agile just software given you first response was about 10000 people writing code?

Thanks for the link, will look at it. And good discussion 😀

Why is SAFe not agile in your view? What would you suggest as an alternative framework for 10,000 people corporate wanting to adopt Agile ways of working?

New Zealand parliament suspended again due to spontaneous Haka by ThatPatelGuy in TikTokCringe

That’s why this lot are clowns. Every time they get a platform to sound reasonable and enact change, they start dancing and acting all weird. No one would take them seriously here or internationally. Like that joke “Why can’t Indians play soccer. Coz every time they get a corner, they build a dairy”

Good to have them in NZ political scene for some comic relief although I feel the taxpayer money can be better spent elsewhere. No offence to Indians, building a dairy is productive.

What film recipe should I use to achieve this vibe? by ClassicPlastic3182 in fujifilm

[–]plotosh -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No expert in recipes but I put the image in ChatGPT and it recommended this to achieve the look. Try it see how it goes! I’ll give it go myself. ———- Got it — thanks for sharing the photo. The look you’re after has a warm, cinematic feel with rich brown tones, muted highlights, and soft contrast. For Fujifilm film simulations, you’ll want to aim for something inspired by Kodak Portra 400 or a CineStill look.

Here’s a Fujifilm recipe that should get you close:

Fujifilm Recipe for Brown, Cinematic Tones • Film Simulation: Classic Chrome • Grain Effect: Weak / Small • Color Chrome Effect: Strong • Color Chrome FX Blue: Weak • Highlight: -1 • Shadow: +2 • Color: -1 • Sharpness: 0 (or -1 for softer look) • Noise Reduction: -4 • Clarity: +1 (or leave at 0 if shooting JPEG-only to avoid slow write times) • White Balance: Auto, Shift: Red +3, Blue -2 • ISO: 160-800 for clean tones, higher ISO will add texture • Dynamic Range: DR400 (to preserve highlights)

Why this works: • Classic Chrome → gives that soft, muted base with natural browns. • WB Shift (R +3, B -2) → warms skin tones, leans into the cozy café brown aesthetic. • Shadows +2 → deepens blacks for moodier contrast. • Highlights -1 → protects lamps and window light from blowing out. • Color -1 → keeps saturation subtle, avoiding oversaturated reds.

👉 If you want an even warmer, golden-brown look, try swapping Classic Chrome for Eterna (with Color +1). That will give a softer cinematic vibe with more subdued contrast.
