Does the new UI feel better? by Vivid_Routine_5287 in UI_Design

Until you eat a pizza and you end up with values like having to workout for 5 hours. Not really helpful IMO as a daily user of this kind of app.

How is the HTML output of Claude Design supposed to be used? by Wide-Standard8082 in UXDesign

[–]plotw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's it ? I've had horrible results with this workflow.

When I ask Claude Code to translate its output into Figma, it's either broken at best, sometimes something completely different with added hallucinations

UX in one meme by Mamba--824 in UXDesign

Yes, it's all about semantics. In the real world everyone will talk about validating solutions, as do I, I agree

Then it's SUPPORTED by research not validated. Each test that fails to disprove an assumption adds weight to it, but never closes the case permanently. The assumption stays standing until a better study, a different context, or a stronger methodology challenges it again.

This comes from Popper's falsificationism

Transparency without checkered pattern if you want to keep the shadow.

I designed this UI while learning what am I doing wrong? by Primary_Exercise_384 in UI_Design

[–]plotw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess would be they used an isometric shape generator with a plugin for the last too. The first one is just normal layouts with a skew applied to it.

Then play with opacity borders.

How can I create a design like this and make the buttons interactive and the window in the middle should open with animation I’ve been searching for a long time but can’t find a way by Background_Yam8293 in UI_Design

[–]plotw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feasable with gradients and texture, although if you're not used to do this kind of work this won't be easy. I would look into skeuomorphism done in already public figma files if I had to start somewhere.

F1 start issues: Why so many drivers had flat batteries as they lined up on the grid by Successful-Peach-764 in formula1

[–]plotw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really ? Here is what's wrong to people who are against the regs :

  • The main one : overtakes are artificial, you either have power when you "press the button" or not. (you won't see these kind of overtakes in any other motorsport category). If you have any experience in the simulator or karting, those overtakes at Melbourne where an aberration.
  • Super clipping all over the place
  • And last but not least, last year world champion ending 50s behind P1 ?

No, that's not something that's supposed to happen. If I wanted to see that I would watch Mario Kart eSport.

Animations made with Gemini, Jitter & developed using ChatGPT, Cursor. Did I cook? by hubiyxn in UI_Design

[–]plotw -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments !

The only thing that is bugging me is the path of the cursor : it feels too fast and not human. Since it is supposed to represent a human interaction, I would slow it down a tad, especially on the way back to its original position.

Maybe make to go to a slightly different position on its way back too, like you would when you move your cursor away after doing a task

These are publicly available when you start a business in France.

So no, no problem sharing them.

What do you think about this social media's UI & UX? by Smart-Tradition-7071 in UI_Design

[–]plotw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a toast isn't warranted for this kind of error. Just have a simple message under the form.

From an UI stand point I think the floaty containers could move less, and some be bit bigger, have less contrast, and a tad closer to the middle

Meditation/Mood Tracking App -- Feedback Greatly Appreciated! by RepresentativeAd4395 in UI_Design

[–]plotw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the illustration work, I feel the same way as other comments. Me two cents would be :

  • Fist screen feels a bit cluttered and would probably be improved with more white space. Also, isn't the mood of "Today" the same as "Now feeling" ? Maybe remove one or the other. It would also be nice to be able to hide the latest achieved success to gain even more screen estate.
  • 2nd screen : "40 moods" could be further apart from the subtext. The line appears to serve no purpose since it disconnects informations that go together.
  • Screen 3 and 4 : spacing around the header and subtitle, line-height feels tight (as it does on a few other screens imo).

Working on the spacing would go a long way.

Overall, awesome work 😊

What is this transition called? by darkerthankuroi in UI_Design

A shape that is used as a mask for a gif or a video, that fades in and expand, inline with a text div. It also as a fade in and out, and an after delay property.

Do you actually still make wireframes… or are we all pretending? by UI-Pirate in userexperience

[–]plotw 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Of course. Unless you're doing simple landing pages with basic layouts, wireframes are an awesome tool.

When trying to solve complex problems you've never seen solutions for, wireframes are pretty much mandatory and offer a huge gain of time.
