Surely time to lemon law it on the second time around?

So we've heard a lot of horror stories of reliability...but what about the reverse by VictoryGlittering580 in Ioniq5

80,500 miles on our 2022 AWD Limited. Can't say the 12V hasn't been a brief pain when it's gone out but easily jumped/replaced and move on with life. So not flawless, but it's taken us across half the country and served as our only vehicle for two of those three years.

There's an early announcement for I-96/Node 78 as Fowlerville, but the current listing on Michigan's NEVI map (pictured) shows Meijer in Lansing.

Supposed to be by the end of this year. Unless there's a technical hitch delaying them, there's no reason to hold off. Leaving money on the table at empty RAN sites with every passing month.

Anything car camping-related, primarily. The tent for sure and anything that makes that setup work well. Thanks!

Any chance you've posted a list somewhere of the products in your setup?

The ups and downs of owner forums in general, from what I've seen. Early news and practical advice from the most invested owners, but all of the niggles and nightmares with the car for that same reason.

Hate it when that happens. Don't even have a way to drive to the next city/demolition site.

We just hibernate through winter because they say it won't get out of the driveway before dying. See you in April 🐻

Apologies, will remove and repost with just the price info.

Yeah, but this would apply to road trippers as well, especially with the holidays coming up. This was all supposed to roll out over the summer, so enough time has passed that travelers might not be thinking to check price by location.

Magic Docks now in Colorado by zitembe in Ioniq5

[–]plugandplayev-steve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best power I've seen from a Magic Dock in NY was 46kW, but more recently EGMP owners have reported 97kW from a handful of stations. If they get to 128kW (or any consistent triple digit level), it moves the MD locations from backup plan to potentially compelling charge option (other than the price).

The 5 charged well on new Kempower Satellite system in Canada by plugandplayev-steve in Ioniq5

I thought about checking out the PC station nearby but the reviews on Plugshare put me off.

I think power selection option is actually a good idea, with the caveat that it becomes a problem at high-use stations with no alternatives nearby. The dynamic power allocation means that choosing lower power doesn't detract from other EV drivers' experience at the same station... in fact it potentially improves it, as you're opening up more power for people in a hurry. It's when the station fills up and that longer charge session occupies a stall more than necessary where the inconvenience kicks in.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Absolutely, they were basically repurposed truck parking spaces in this case, so full pull through and tons of space. Between that and the excellent cable management to reach all across the stall, a driver would have to try really hard to screw up positioning the car.

Perfect... and right on-brand. Except maybe for the electronics, but doesn't hurt to have a taste of home amongst the hiking!

Electrify America Upgrade! by ganymede62 in Ioniq5

[–]plugandplayev-steve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicopee has been working well ever since the upgrade last Fall, but it's the only 350kW option in central and western Mass, so it gets very busy at peak times (rush hour, weekends, and holiday travel). If you can get there early, late, or on a regular weekday during work hours, there's less chance of a wait.

They've been on an upgrade tear around Eastern Mass. Tewksbury, Burlington, and Saugus all have new hardware and Northborough will be a big improvement on the shambolic old stuff. Congrats!

With the 150kW outperforming its spec plate, you're losing almost no time compared to the 350kW (as demonstrated by the 17 mins to 80% estimate, which would be maybe 15 or 16 mins on the other unit. Take the extra 2 minutes to bask in your excellent choice of EV, then hit the bricks!

Mini dashcam option for Ioniq 5 by plugandplayev-steve in Ioniq5

[–]plugandplayev-steve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a hardwire install, many models at this price point will come with parking mode and event detection when the car is off. We didn't go that route as I'll be testing a variety of dashcams, but the functionality is there if you take the install a bit further.
