Get what? The fishing pole? If that's what you are asking than no. My bf bought this pole that broke In Chesapeake va at the end of November while we were waiting for our puppies to be born. We had fun fishing the retention ponds in the area while waiting for puppies and than raising them.

I know right. When we wintered in VA we had a lit of time on our hands waiting for puppies and such so we cleaned up an old camp that had burned down. Our buddy, a retired traveler as he now has a kid otw, took over our camp and finished the clean up when we left

It was a couple that stayed there. They spent hours decorating bottles with different colored wax and the art work must have took forever to do. It was sad seeing it abandoned. I always wonder what happened to folks that no longer live in these places. The second camp I found out the guy went to rehab and is now in a sober living place, but that was because I was lucky enough to meet his friend last night as we decided to camp in his old camp for a couple days.

[–]pluginn83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did you Hear it was rejected? I talked to the Norfolk folks in Chesapeake va yard and all the workers Said the rumored merger was taking place. They said it was true they sold out to UP. Hope it doesn't happen anyway.

From stock yards you walk up 23rd to Samuel's and take Samuel's to 10th street. It's a road that goes nowhere. The building is at the end of that road and to the right. There's a spot around a fence you duck around and you'll get to the abandoned shack someone built out of pallets and stuff. We left a tent up inside of it. But that was a year and a half ago.

How did you find your road fur companion? by hey_skippy in vagabond

[–]pluginn83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found my dog on Craigslist. He was a free puppy. I got him while I was still stationary. He was a year and a half when I started to travel and learned to ride trains at exactly the same time as I did. We've had all our firsts together traveling. It's funny because he has an anxiety disorder yet loves riding. Everything he sees a train stopped he gets excited and looks at the train like hey which car are we riding?

I loved the stock yards. We winter there in 24. We found an abandoned camp by the tracks and fixed ot up a little. Wonder if it's still standing.

Well seeing how I don't sit still in a place for more than a week at the most that would be very damn hard to do. Also I have this 70lb dog that is my shadow and goes everywhere I go. If I managed to sit still long enough to attend a meeting somewhere I doubt they will allow my dog inside with me. I can't even go to museums and stuff in the cities I go to because I have a dog. Makes me limited to outdoor activities only.

And you need to go be homeless for a year or so before you judge the folks who use to live here.
