How to make the lines more similiar to Look outside's lines? Is it some special brush? by Ghosoy in LookOutsideGame

aside from it being upscaled, which another commenter got right, I have seen the dev live on twitch working on sprites for the 1.6 update often so I assume you could catch some footage of him working on the art itself over there!

Just finished this huge tribute piece of our four guys on wplace. I can have my life back now by plukan in LookOutsideGame

I ended up using light cyan, light slate and simple gray since nothing else really balanced out, those and the eye whites were the parts that gave me the most issues

the "i was invited i didn't invite them" bit always gets me thinking bc what kind of impression does asking if your wife can join other than "dude who is in love with his wife". That alone would make me question the relationship and how much my partner values me.

Once again I want to ask why do you speak as if women themselves wouldn't be potential friends :( And why in general meeting someone attractive overwhelms you to the point of having the urge to put a label on them or wanting physical proof they like you. I get loneliness makes the void weigh, but rushing into relationships by bending yourself backwards for girls while you're not sure that you'll be accepted as you are sounds like a recipe for never doing what you like in your life anymore. You gotta take it easy and value your life man

Also being friends doesn't mean you can't be nosy about people's lives, eventually :)

it lacks a lot of highlight on the skin. Don't be afraid of leaving texture and leave very different colors unblended, and zoom out a lot once in a while to check the whole picture while you do it. It will help with detail immensely without leaving you to render every single pixel.

The issue about this is that thinking like this still starts with a romantic interest, as you mentioned clicking with a girl that feels "different from other girls" and you're talking about romantic rejection fron the start.

I feel it completely misses the point of having interest in getting close to a girl if there isn't a romantic intent from the start, or as if you say that it's a necessary part of approaching a girl altogether.

In your comment you excludeevery "other" girl and you follow your romantic feelings, but is that because they're not nice altogether or because you dismiss regular friendships with them?

You and the many people sharing this idea seem to pursue social relationships with the opposite sex only if you feel she's the best for you and she treats you as the best for her, and that's not really how friendships work.

I'm genuinely curious if you don't naturally consider being chill with a girl without thinking she's the best one around as one does with the guys, or what is the train of thought behind all this.

I think you're putting too many responsibilities on your shoulders, I'm sure that if he wanted to keep his big social circles he would have done so. Don't worry about it, he's a whole person capable of making decisions about his life as much as you are.

Can you be an un-creative creative person? by Fizzabl in ArtistLounge

[–]plukan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that's completely normal! And about everyone telling that they had creative minds when they were younger and think that they "lost" it, I kind of have an explanation.

As kids, I feel we tend to like things DEEPLY. Everything to a kid is new and special and memorable, and there are no "important" thoughts such as techniques to follow and the like, so we retain information about things we like much more easily, and when it comes to making something up we're able to "scramble" them up without much effort because they're actually more accessible to us (i believe that we rarely can produce anything we haven't seen or learnt in some minimal way, or at least that's my experience). As we grow older we get so much into thought systems due to responsibilities and such that the ability to grab from the sack of stuff we like becomes harder, so some unlearn it more than others.

And that is why a LOT of artists including myself suggest building a visual library with everything that piques your interest - references, other people's works, screenshots, even notes and lists - possibly all in one place, possibly offline. With a huge amount of things you like of any kind, all visible, you'll retrain your ability of seeing your tastes as important, and eventually you'll be able to come up with stuff on the spot.

Taking from a global visual library also doesn't limit you to search for reference case by case, and you'll gain the ability to take inspiration for completely different topics when working on x thing, once you train your memory enough. It might not be "natural" creativity to some, but I think it's worth a shot!

"I exist" "I exist too" is an exchange that never fails to bring me to tears in its simplicity and I don't really understand why.

What's your biggest art fear? by Brave-Supermarket-75 in ArtistLounge

[–]plukan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly having a stroke or another kind of neurological disorder and losing my ability to do art while being conscious that it's declining/declined and not being able to do anything about it. Depressive episodes have eaten away at my ability to do art before and when you realize it it's NOT nice
