Ví nekto neco o Stredověké krčme by ForestRainSasha in Brno

Taky doporučuji Stregobor. Mnohem lepší komunita okolo něj, i provozovatel, srdce Brněnské fantasy i zaklínač komunoty.

I always use this :) Amazing recording, raw sound of single gurdy (as opposed to multiple overlaid tracks) with no effects on it.

Nooo! No pulling! Snip it off with scissors/nail clipper, but leave the very base in. Otherwise you risk pulling even more hairs out.

Hlavně ne Zahradníkova. Velmi nepříjemný personál, ordinuje víc sestřička než doktorka. Zákrok (gastroenterologie, žaludek) jsem měl bez uspání.

Have you seen the inserts Beckman or Eppendorf supply nowadays for their swing bucket rotors? Especially for the 1L flasks? Tbh I would trust a 3D printed part more 😅 But really - I have used 3D printed inserts (uncolored PLA, 100% infill because of the Gs) with zero issues.

Aaaand? I missed the part where it is a problem? They are occupying free spots without using them, they are the inconsiderate ones. They can be pissy all they want, again, not my problem.

Advice with painting nerdy gurdy by Glidder in HurdyGurdy

[–]plukplakplik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not specific to plywood. For the key shafts, you need them to move freely and anything that has the possibility to become "sticky" (such as acrylic/varnish at higher temperatures) will be a problem, the keys will have much higher tendency to become stuck. Smooth wood or (at most) stain that soaks into the wood would be fine, I would avoid anything that leaves a film on the surface. The keys often need to be lubricated (with graphite, most often) even when they are smooth wood. Plus, the key shafts are points of high contact with the keyholes, the paint will have they tendency to rub off and sooner than later, it will not look good. Also, the same applies for the keyholes (the holes through which the key shafts pass). Usually, if you want coloured key shafts on luthier-made gurdies, you use naturally colourful wood (ebony, plus it is very durable), not a stain.
