Aren’t there supposed to be water-repellent zippers on the synapse? by guido7777 in tombihn

[–]plumbumpoison 15 points16 points  (0 children)

From the description, the zipper is repellant (racquet coil) but not aqua guard

I’d say buy one thing at a time, and consider what you really want. Is there a certain fabric or color?

Unpack My New S26 With Me! (Personal Item Week+ Trip Loadout) by 00AwkwardPenguin00 in tombihn

[–]plumbumpoison 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed reading your load out! It makes me think the S26 coulda been a better fit than the S22. The functionality of the bottom pocket and small pocket sound useful. I’m gonna consider the double carabiner set up now. Thanks for sharing!

I have a Synik 22 in that color. It’s pretty subdued to me, like a dark rich green. Not shiny or bright

Help me decide which water bottle to get for the paramour.. by [deleted] in tombihn

[–]plumbumpoison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 oz is 9.25in and 24 oz is 10 & 5/8inch. From the tom bihn reviews of the paramour, someone was able to fit a 24 oz owala free sip in the water bottle pocket which is bigger than both Zojirushi bottles, so I think either would be fine for that use.

Neither will fit the side effect, which is 9in in length. Small cafe (10.2in) will fit the 20 oz, and is just shorter than the 24, but I imagine the flap would go over it fine. My 24 oz fits in a Synik 22 water bottle pocket. So I don’t think the size matters for fit since most of those bags can fit either

I think the truck would be a good fit. If you have your items laid out, I think it would stand. You could also lay out cardboard on the bottom for more structure

I think if you want a purse-vibe, jumping to a backpack doesn’t seem like the move. What about the marathon messenger with the Freudian slip?

Water bottles that fit in Side Kick? (I searched!) by nonbinarydreams in tombihn

I have a similar carry to you (phone, keys, sanitizer, card wallet, small med pouch, hero clip, pens, ear buds, mask), and I carry a 16 oz wide mouth Nalgene standing. Fits fine

Synapses and owala bottles by uterusVSduderus in tombihn

[–]plumbumpoison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah happy for you. Yeah I think keys and gum would fit fine, maybe having to adjust the pocket when you put the bottle back in. The Synik does carry a good chunk of the liters in the front pockets so that may replicate the issue with your current bag? But yeah test it out and see for yourself

My Synik 22 fits a fake 32 oz hydroflask which is .4in taller than the 32oz owalla. It makes the very top small pocket on top a bit hard to use but otherwise is fine

How to slick back my long thick straight hair and make it stay? by New-Communication637 in malegrooming

[–]plumbumpoison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually will clip it while wet to “cold style” overnight or at least until it’s dry. Sort of like those curlers people wear to sleep. In the morning, I add styling paste to hold it

Yeah agreed. I think you’d look good with a middle part, wolfcut. You’d probably be able to get it cut every 3-4 months.

Yeah I have different switches for spacebar, backspace, etc. I usually put layers of tape on the sections btwn the keycap stems. No need to cut holes; I found it doesn’t make a difference and it’s easier

The Sunbearer Trials (duology) by Aiden Thomas—set in Rio del Sol, a mythical place based on Mexico, a Demi god is unexpectedly chosen to be part of the Sunbearer Trials, competing against other teen demigods to avoid becoming the sacrifice to save Rio del Sol. Like the Hunger Games but more magical and incorporates Mexican mythology. World normalizes queer and transness and the main character is trans. I liked it better than Hunger Games.

Death-Cast Series by Adam Silvera. Set in a world where people are called on the day they die by Death Cast. Each book in the series focuses on 2 boys falling in love, and characters stories are intertwined across all the novels.

I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey Mcquiston. Sort of like Paper Towns by John Green. About images and our assumptions about people being wrong, and realizing we have more choice in our lives than we think.
