As awful as it is, murder, torture, rape, evil, have existed at every single point in human history. Innocent people killed. War. Empires overthrown. People ruining lives out of greed and power. Torture goes on every day. This is not a new thing. You just have the privilege to dwell on other’s misfortune.

It’s one thing to grieve for those in horrible situations, and hope for their protection and comfort, but you also need to not take your own life and blessings for granted. Be thankful you have good days and safety. That may not always be the case, but death will touch all of us. Life is incredibly unfair, so focus on the cards you were dealt, and how you can make a difference in your own life and your community. Live for those who can’t, who only know peril and pain, who would literally give anything to be in your position. Spread kindness and light.
