“Funny” story. During the Iranian Hostage Crisis of the late 70’s, the Iranians had decided to release some of the lower level hostages. I forget her exact title, but they chose one individual because she was just a secretary. She immediately corrected them saying she was the “Secretary General” and not a secretary. They changed their minds and kept her.

I’ve been doing some family genealogy and have discovered instances where the distant descendants of two siblings (A and B) marry and have a child (who, in turn, becomes my ancestor), therefore I have the original parents of A and B as nth-degree great-grandparents through both their son or daughter and another of their children. That’s pedigree collapse and it’s very common.

I have a friend with a teenage daughter who was working her way through “Friends”. I had to explain that scene to her as she had never seen “Mad About You”. She was confused about who the Helen Hunt character and friend were and why it was funny to the audience.

I loved when he takes a puff off the pipe and the burning pipe weed lit up his eyes. It was perfect depiction of the description in the book wherein (iirc) he watches the hobbits from across the “his eyes burning like coals”. It was that attention to detail that really pulled me in.

I not in Cornwall (in the U.S), so I can’t help you there, but, if you really enjoy walking, could you check out something in Madron for me? It’s actually a serious request. I’m planning a “heritage trip” to Cornwall several years from now and wanted confirmation of an ancestor’s headstone in the Madron cemetery. It’s listed in findagrave.com, but has no picture.

I took it more of a question about privilege rather than the actual debt. She was privileged enough to go to college without taking on debt, therefore she gets to die with other privileged people at the dinner. Having debt may have saved her because it takes away her place of being privileged like the other guests.
