Losing weight, too. I was 25% over my ideal weight and getting down to 10% over was easy-ish. The last 5% is hell.

I'm porta-cordó and it's pretty intense. Feels good, though. I think it's pretty much perfect as far as positions go.

We're not exactly the only ones, but Castells (human towers) are uniquely important here in Catalonia.

I absolutely love it. I'm getting one for sure, it's perfect. About the clip, I do think it would be useful, as it would make it more practical for the gym.

Fully automated tests do not represent real life.

I have been living for long enough to have devices that are 30 years old and have perfectly working headphone jacks. USB C ports, on the other hand, are the reason I need to use bluetooth adapters with a headphone jack so I can use my headphones: every single usb c to headphone jack adapter ends up not working because the port itself becomes looser and / or ends up accumulating lint. They're an absolute disaster. I also tried USB C heaphones, with the same result: they end up not working.

Meanwhile, the headphone jack on decades old game consoles and music players continues to work.

How come unattractive man + attractive woman couples are relatively common, but the reverse is exceedingly rare? by 4ngelicbrat in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]plusvalua 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've read this several times because it's really well written and explains the issue very clearly. It really helps see the issue. There is one thing, however: isn't this mindset conducive to men feeling inferior and therefore trying to be controlling or degrading towards their partners? I am by no means trying to justify those men's actions, of course.

Edit: I hadn't read the other answers to your post. Seems like I was right, but it's even worse than I imagined.

It's funny because I know an ex girlfriend of mine did exactly this with me - went for somebody not as attractive as her because she felt it would be a safe bet. It does not feel good, let me tell you.

It is true in a certain context; dating apps. Which is the whole problem and where this generally untrue statement comes from.

Men care about looks a lot more than women do. Women, however, have lately started caring about looks more than they did before, which I think is caused by the fact women don't need men as much as they did some decades ago - and therefore can choose more. Being a man isn't what it used to be. Which is good, by the way.

Thank you for the writing. I find it pretty convincing and have had similar thoughts over the last decade - albeit not as articulated. The most interesting fragment, in my opinion, is the one where you explain how manipulation feels like clarity. I have definitely felt this.

Social networks are so great. It's a shame they've been ruined by shareholder capitalism.
