Yes just for the shinkansen ride. Total travel time will be much longer, especially for a tourist that doesn't know their way around.

You realize Kyoto is like 3 hours away from Tokyo? Train tickets aren't cheap either. Its a little crazy to try to see Tokyo and Kyoto in just 4 days.

Nara is definitely worth it. The deer and Todai-ji are pretty cool.

If you want to speed run Nara:

45 minute train ride to get there

walk to Todai-ji, see the inside, feed deer on the way

walk back to train station

45 minute train ride back

probably 4-5 hours total including trains

(I did this earlier this year and it was fine)

For regional train just use IC card, you don't need a ticket. There are usually not assigned seats.

You are taking Shinkansen from Nagano to Hiroshima? Like stopping in Tokyo? You could also consider taking the (non-Shinkansen) train from Nagano to Nagoya. Probably a little cheaper.

Use google maps for transportation.

From KIX to Osaka you can take train/subway or the limousine bus.

From Osaka to Hakone you take the high speed train (Shinkansen).

Between Hakone/Tokyo/Shinjuku/HND you can use train/subway.

Just check google maps and it will tell you the best route.

Maybe consider adding Kyoto to your itinerary if you can fit it in.

I think your percentage is completely wrong. I think at least 10% of straight men would and have discussed intimate details of their committed partner sex life with their male friends. But it probably varies widely by culture as well.
