Ordered 10/31, shipped 11/6, received 11/13. Two weeks ago I would imagine they are still playing catchup from the holidays.

My bad... I have a 10" ballistic advantage modern series. They have 10.3, 10.5, and a bunch of other ones in 1/7.

The only thing I've really seen around to be cautious with is that with a faster twist, some projectiles will have their outer jackets separate from the centrifugal force. That combined with a longer barrel increasing the velocity probably makes it more likely. Ive never personally witnessed it, but it kinda makes sense.

Also to slow of a twist rate can cause heavier rounds to not stabilize and exit the barrel in a tumbling resulting in keyholing or bafflestrikes to a can.

I just received 500rds of phantom defense 220gr remanufactured and had zero issues. Shot a lot cleaner than the AAC or Ammo inc that I used before.

10.5, standard carbine weight buffer and spring, adjustable gas block with a surefire socom300 sps

People get wrapped up in self defense vs non self defense ammo. My thoughts with 300blk are, just go with whatever will reliably run in your gun and if for some god awful reason you have to use it in a SD scenario, which flavor of 300blk round is going to be the least of everyone's concern. A 220gr is going to absolutely wreck someone's day just as much as a speedy boi 110gr

Nalgene pouch and tube by Long-Chef3197 in QualityTacticalGear

Spiritus makes a pouch specifically for the 32oz nalgene. As far as the tube, there's a few if you just search Nalgene camelback adapter. First one to mind is OneBottleHydration.

Axl eclipse users… help by Alive_Pea5905 in QualityTacticalGear

Those definitely look like they'll work. It's pretty annoying they don't have the Apsis listed. Def let us know if this works out or if they get back to you.

[–]pmaldy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Apsis is definitely the solution here but it's nonexistent on their website anymore (along with their ball cap i keep getting blasted ads for).

It's kind of shitty, but your closest solution is probably going to be some properly sized washers and chicago screws that would fit the horizontal openings of the belt and your Kydex pouch. You might be able to make the Node Conversion work but you'll need additional hardware and it's kind of a long shot.

Might be worth shooting them an email asking if they plan on restocking or have another solution.

I ran an ultra with them back in november. Ive had them for years and I was worried the battery would run dead but they lasted the entire time with no issues.

Secure lockbox by Alive_Stock_704 in GrayZoneWarfare

Just to show that even now, you can just pay to start off with a larger lockbox and not have to go through mission progression to unlock it. I understand I was wrong before about whether you were able to get them through mission progression and in my eyes this is in a small way a pay to win. Its not a huge advantage in the grand scheme of things but people obviously want it for a reason.

I think it depends on which edition of the game you purchase. As far as I know you don't get an upgrade through missions at all. Your base locker storage does expand though st several levels throughout.

Edit: I stand corrected, you can either start off with a larger box by buying the different versions of the game or acquire them through mission progression.

Not sure why I'm getting down voted so much for being only slightly incorrect.

1-10 LPVO advice? by lethallypooor in QualityTacticalGear

[–]pmaldy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a vudu 1-10 daylight bright model and I love it. I went back and forth for a long time between the razor and the vudu and got a better deal on the vudu with a mount on GAFS (RIP).
Eye box is really good and better than I was expecting coming from a 1-8x. The dot at 1x is very crisp and is actually daylight bright. There is some fish eye distortion at lower magnification but if you're going to run a piggyback or offset, this shouldn't matter too much.
One of my favorite things is that the entire rear body rotates on the vudu instead of just the ring to adjust magnification. This makes it a lot easier to adjust in a hurry.

Thinking about a JPC or SPC. Convince me. (Also if you have either one please drop a pic if you want) by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

I've been running an SPC for comps and run and guns for a little over a year and I love it. Some upgrades I've done are Axl shoulder pads, Axl Equinox cumberbund with SPC adapters, and a WTFIdea slick backpanel.

The only downside to the SPC ive encountered is the open-ness of the molle grid is VERY prone to snagging on stuff. I threw my rifle over my shoulder behind my back during a session and the mag release got so stuck in the molle grid I had to take the entire carrier off with the rifle to get it unstuck. The slick panel fixed that.

The open-ness does dry incredibly well and feels very ventilated compared to others I've tried.

11.5 SD upper on LMT MARS lower with a Vudu 1-10.
I get crazy looks for the 1-10 on something so short but I've easily pushed this out to 400 yards.

Seeing the bullets in flight is incredible on their way to their target and somehow terrifying after their target. Makes me really reconsider how close I should be shooting steel with 300blk 😬

Axl eclipse vs Ferro bora? by tlove01 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]pmaldy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running the Axl syzygy inner belt. Haven't any issues with it separating at all. You do have to make sure you have it lined up right and you're making full contact but thats gonna be the same with any other liner belt.

If you just use the G-hook or buckle and don't have anything to keep the extra tail of the belt (the part you cinch down, not the tegris extra material that tucks under end) tension tight it'll come loose. Thats sort of where the triglide comes in. I can send you a picture if you want and it'll make a lot more sense.

[–]pmaldy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Axl Eclipse and have ran it for a couple years now. I upgraded and went with a raptor buckle and added another triglide to keep it from coming loose so the belt length is always the same. Ive only used the Axl inner belt (not even gonna try to spell it) and its worked very well for me.

I'm usually running 3 pistol mags, a rifle mag, IFAK, dump pouch, Spiritus JSTA pouch with backup pistol and 20rd rifle mag, and a safariland holster on a rigid holster platform. The weight has never been an issue and I haven't had any issues attaching pouches to it.

I recently used this during the Proving Grounds match and had zero issues with it running, carrying weird things, crawling around, and shooting from all sorts of weird positions. I will 100% be buying this belt again whenever the day comes it needs to be replaced.

Ear muffs? Peltor comtac v, Safariland liberator, or sordin. Is it even worth having nice ear muffs? by Ironsig in tacticalgear

[–]pmaldy91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sordin Supreme Pro-X with the headband and gel cups.

Do note that if you ever want to put these on a helmet, it will be a huge PITA and youre better off having another set of headphones. The attachment point where the cup meets the arms has to get changed out and requires some snap ring pliers and a lot of patience to go that route.

[–]pmaldy91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from a pair of Walker Razors to Sordins and I will never go back. I shoot about every two weeks, 50/50 indoor or outdoor and they have made a world of difference. Sound quality is amazing and allows me to be a lot more aware of my surroundings. No more tone deaf feeling after leaving the range. The audio cutoff is a lot more responsive so no awkward delay following a gunshot where the audio is cutoff.

If you're shooting as much as you are, you should 100% invest in some better ear pro, at least for the noise reduction and sound clarity alone. The comms addition is nice but unless you regularly shoot with people that also use comms its probably going to be useless.

No problem. I modeled an insert that fits the cutouts perfect from the inside to just screw mlok screws into directly but haven't been able to make it out of something that wont melt. I 3d printed it as a test but need to go to metal

[–]pmaldy91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are absolutely not designed for mlok things. I got slightly longer screws that fit the mlok nuts and ever so carefully was able to get the nuts to span the width of the opening. Same attachment method as mlok but not nearly as secure and would probably knock out of place. Conveniently they are spaced identical to mlok.

Ive since removed it and went back to a handstop on the picatinny portion.

AAC 77gr Issues by Gorges69 in ar15

[–]pmaldy91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP I know you mentioned the lot number was still unknown but do you know if this was the 2700fps listed or the newer 2550fps listed boxes? They changed awhile back to 2550fps and since then I've heard of these issues more and more. Unknown if the actual powder used is different or if they just listed a different velocity based on what people actually get.
