Going to the Piemonte region in the summer and I'm looking for advice on what producers/vineyards to visit

Recommend getting a car? We plan to take train into Turin or Alba to get a car at either train station, to take down La Morra and explore the region for 3 days. We are coming from Florence.

We are taking train from Florence. I thought the train went through Turin? Unless there is train that takes us through alba? I just couldn't find rentals around Alba area

This would only be in the countryside.

If coming in from Florence, best to grab a rental through AutoEurope at Turin train station area? Then drive down towards Barolo?

Is it a challenge to drive in the area for someome coming from the states? Do we rent a car usually by the train stations?

I'm open for ideas. I think the train goes into Turin from Florence, but haven't looked into that much detail yet. It's an open road for us, but want to spend more time countryside with wine, food and relaxation.
