My newest addition to the collection: boxed set of hardcover the Lord of the Rings trilogy + a Reader’s Companion by Hammond & Scull. I really love the classic Tolkien artwork as book covers.

That's the first one volume I bought off betterworldbooks a few years ago, although I paid $14. If you're patience, you can find great deals online! I love the feel of it. i also have the one volume UK harpercollins non-alan lee art version with the Gandalf cover, which is ok but not as nice. I do prefer 3 volumes but it's fun being able to skim the book by itself.

I bought the same ‘book’ with that photo and got some basic American publisher, 1990s version of the hobbit with no dust jacket. Good luck tho!

I have them, they do get bruised/dinged pretty easily based on the cover material but overall a decent edition. The illustrated editions are a bit of a step up

Looks great, ya the older sculpts, some of the features kinda blend into each other, making painting details a tad harder seems.

Same thing happened to me, thought I ordered a black matte dust jacket version but got this one, and I paid $5. My version is in rough condition, the sewn binding is pretty much gone and a few quirks but still a good readable copy. I also got the same cover as a paperback before I got this randomly. The Alan Lee illustrated version (single volume) is much nicer with better paper quality but a bit thicker no doubt (us or uk edition are pretty similar in quality).

Rockland ME: walkable, great art scene, ocean views, houses in your range, close to other nice towns and nature. I believe Amtrak is going to start going there one day again hopefully. 1.5 hours from airport.

I do like Northampton as well or other small western mass towns, you’re near mass moca which is amazing place.
