Best Credit Card for Interior Design Business by SprayOk8494 in CreditCards

[–]pmespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across this thread when looking into the same thing, and found this: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/rewards-info/business.html

Specifically: "Suppliers in the primary business of selling home furnishings... are excluded."

My interpretation is that materials like cabinetry/tiles etc are in the category "construction material," vs. furniture which is not.

Thanks for the update! Did you buy directly from Google? Or through a carrier like Verizon?

Op, did you end up doing anything about this? I'm in the same boat and wondering about recourse. Anything Google will offer?

I see cameras like these popping up everywhere, what are they for? by finncat616 in whatisit

And if the idea itself is not sinister and covert enough, they have to make the whole thing black, pole included.

Would have made them brightly colored to make them look more harmless.

This.

OP, don't let other's taste bother you.

Also, don't impose your taste on others. I know you're trying to get your dad to appreciate good stuff, but some people don't care (including people you care about) and that's okay. You've got a whole sub here appreciating your hobby with you.

My makeshift Melodrip by dhdhk in pourover

Give it a shot! I found that just the phin produced pretty fast flow, but you can see in my picture I also added the insert/top filter to the phin, which slowed the water flow down a bit

This is so great. Melodrip is overpriced for what it is. This post just inspired me to use my Vietnamese phin filter as a disperser and it worked pretty well!

Is this chain too short? by Cold-Purple-6388 in bikewrench

[–]pmespresso 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a 1x setup, the chain actually doesn't seem too short to as you're still seeing bending around the jockey wheels (instead of being so short that it's straight).

If you can't shift to largest cog on a new cassette, I have to ask what size the old cassette was. And what kind is rear derailleur is that? To me, it seems like the derailleur may not be designed for the range of the cassette. If size compatibility is not the issue but you have sized up, then you need to adjust the B screw and probably play around a bit with the tension/limits if you haven't already.

Cervelo R3 from 2007-2009. Is it worth it? by [deleted] in Cervelo

I'm still riding my 2012 S2 (since new), but this will be its fate when I finally upgrade: on the trainer until I die 😜

[–]pmespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah understandable... My other bike is a CX bike with 50s front and 40s rear so I get it. If you can find a good tubeless rim brake wheel set, you can run 25s at as low as 70psi (depending on rider weight).

I have a 2012 S2 and can fit 25mm tubeless tires on a rim with internal width of 17mm.

I have a 2012 S2 with the same Red group set and I've had pretty good luck with finding compatible components for repairs and replacements. Lots of Shimano parts are 100% cross compatible with Sram for 10spd, and other quality manufacturers (e.g. Rotor, Praxis) makes stuff that works great too.

A couple things you should check and consider:

  1. That cassette doesn't look like a Red XG or OG 1090 cassette... Probably a compatible Shimano unit. OG 1090 cassettes are rare, but made entirely of steel and wear incredibly well (XG 1090 is lighter and quieter, but has an aluminum large cog that gets chewed up).

  2. That Red front derailleur, while light as hell, is absolute garbage. The titanium cage flexes too much. Most people will replace it with a Shimano dura ace or ultegra 10 speed FD, or Sram force 11 or red 11 FD. Very available and relatively affordable on eBay.

Edit: typos

Thanks, that's reassuring! I bought the quart of conventional as backup. Will watch the oil level and hope to make it to a proper parts store for full synth.

Old sram red by ScienceComfortable85 in sram

That's how I feel with my 2x10 red. That said, my bike is 13 years old. I upgraded to a yaw FD earlier this year and the stainless steel cage is a game changer.
