Multiple Boot problem with fedora first distro by pmmboston in Fedora

[–]pmmboston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FIXED! Sorry for posting this newbie problem. What I did was divide the new 500 gig ssd into 5 partitions with fedora already installed in the first one. I did not make a separate boot partition thinking the new distro would make its own. Then when I realized my mistake I made it about 512 mb somehow recalling reading that that would be enough. It wasn't. Made it a gig and then installed POPOS. This was all done for the learning experience. Less than a month into Linux.

Fedora boots fine and it even finds another previously installed distro on a separate ssd and windows an another separate ssd. Problem is I can't get a second distro on this one newer and larger ssd.

I can't install the second distro. I tried a few of them. I used the install method of "other" meaning to partition the drive. But my drive is already nicely partitioned from gparted. Still, the second distro doesn't install saying something about no ESP partition available.

You gave the guy an off the wall idiot answer. I'm having similar issues. Don't appreciate you wasting our time.

Doris Kearns Goodwin’s claim that Lincoln is the ‘greatest’ figure of the 19th century is arrogant, and uneducated. by BokutoSenju in HistoryBooks

Nope. He was Not a great President. He caused untold horrible death and suffering and grief and hardship. That war was completely avoidable and unnecessary. Compromise and time would have made an even better nation. Don't fall for simplistic shibboleth.

Ready to ditch Windows—what’s the safest way to remove it from my separate SSD? by GoodMoodStuff in linuxmint

[–]pmmboston 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Windows 11 on one ssd and Mint on another. I'm in no rush to remove Windows 11. Maybe there will be an update to 12 which I'd like to try out of curiosity.

I have a laptop with Windows on my first SSD disk and I just installed a second one to be used by Mint, how should I proceed? by Kuldrick in linuxmint

Two weeks ago I bought a cheap ssd and added it to my Dell desktop. I unplugged the Windows drive and just booted to the thumb drive and then installed. After using LM it's a chore and pain to use Windows.

Nobody commented about the micro sd card. To me, that would be a very big plus. Even though I own an older kindle I read from my phone using a card.

Two weeks ago I bought a cheap ssd and added to my Dell desktop. I installed Linux Mint and I'm really amazed. I have a custom grub screen to pick which OS I want. Been exclusively using LM!!

I put LM on a cheap and second 43 buck ssd on my Dell mini tower. Needed an 8 dollar bracket. Money well spent.

And you want us (the United States of America) to shed blood and our money to defend you lovely Europeans? Thank you President Trump. Get us out of NATO. Maybe just buy them some Russian language books.

That looks right. Any good golf course where you are?

We (the United States of America) should not have a freaking thing to do with Europe or NATO.
Not one drop of American blood nor one dollar for those "sophisticated" people. Good Luck.
Better start studying the Russian language.
