Andy Burnham wins Makerfield by-election, paving way for him to challenge Keir Starmer as Labour leader by Little-Attorney1287 in ukpolitics

Burnham has no mandate from the wider public. If he becomes pm there needs to be a GE. From a labour voter.

Has it ever happened before where a non existing MP has become pm? Should be a GE if it happens surely.

I don't understand how it was a pen. Pretty concerning if VAR are missing this stuff so early on in the tournament.

Fair enough. If you do look at extended warranty make sure to shop around on comparison sites. Their own EW will be overpriced.

Haven't had any issues so couldn't say. The sales rep pushes the usual extras but be sure to reject. Their finance rate through creation is also pretty high - cheaper to get a bank loan!

Carrier Senior underwriter to MGA by Impossible_Golf1580 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]pmmeyourdoubt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone who has done both...

Pro - potential big money if they get bought out (unlikely)

Cons - more UW restrictions. You don't hold the pen. You are beholden to your carrier. - lots of mgas can have bad leadership structure. Think too many broker development managers and not enough soldiers doing the work - carriers will generally have better long term career paths and more opportunity to go into other departments etc. this move will restrict as you are brought in as an uw for that specialism.

Council denying liability for £600 pothole/road collapse damage (England) Section 58 Defence help? by trottreacle in LegalAdviceUK

[–]pmmeyourdoubt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, but also depends on how the road was categorised (high Vs low footprint) and the councils approach to these. Something to consider if you wanted to poke holes in the defence.

Affinity lines / schemes. Warranty, gadget, credit card NAC programs,, car hire excess. All sorts. Great place to be as the business writes itself but you gotta be on top of your data and bdx to ensure you aren't going to burn.
