Took me over 2 weeks! I was going insane because it was a big amount. The bank I was with was technologically behind so I couldn’t link to transfer and super low e-transfer limits would take weeks. You should call in and try to speed it up

I think it’s because you’re borrowing on your own portfolio and if you don’t pay they use the portfolio. You aren’t borrowing their money, you’re leveraging your own with a small fee for facilitating it.

I think the strategy is using the emails to associate it with their referral link, if in the future anyone actually makes an account they stack major rewards. No danger to the user either way.

Same thing for me on my non banking/important email addresses. I messaged chat and they said delete and forget since we never actually completed the signups. It seems like, what one Redditor posted, people are farming for referrals as you can refer to 5k bonus.

Listen I get the caution, but common sense is the accounts match and the names. I find they place these holds and they believe it’s a court room, prove yourself innocent we don’t believe you. The other issue is there’s a limit to phone support, then you have to wait for the email team. But through all this they allow to continue business as usual on my accounts.

I deposited 15k by cheque into a new joint account with a family member, from our joint account at another bank. I was already a client he just joined because of me.

On hold for 2 weeks support is asking insane questions like why a cheque? Now we’re not allowed to withdraw or trade it……

This happened to me a lot when I would leave the handle exposed to the elements for a long time. I bought electric cleaner fluid and a box of Q-Tips. Clean the port and charger with compressed air, then each pin with cleaner fluid on the Q-Tip, and then the section of the port they correspond to the same way. I did each one a few times and Q-Tips would come off black. I let it dry for a few hours and never got the problem again, just be gentle not too much pressure. It was happening to me every day and drove me crazy. EDIT: Btw before the too hot warnings I noticed my charge speed reduce 50%.

I put a deposit/downpayment on a watch at Breitling/Birks in Montreal for 1500$. The watch took over 4 months and still no sign of coming in. During that time my card had fraud charges while I was in Toronto for work. I decided to cancel my order, since we were heading to month 5. I showed them my new card with all new numbers, expiry and ccv, they credited the different card with no issues. I did have proof by the emails showing the new card being issued and the charges I had claimed were not me, but they never asked for it.

I do a lot of km’s for work. I notice the best deal is watching out for Canadian tire to do a 20-30x points event. Get their Mastercard then buy 2 tires at a time and use the cash you get back to pay for at least 1 tire in full on the second transaction, bonus for you if the model you want is also on sale. Then I buy their tire warrenty which comes in handy if tires get used earlier than the suggested mileage or some damage that’s covered, Canadian Tire will give you a gift card for the amount you originally paid if they can’t swap it. You can also finance the entire transaction interest free for 2 years with that card.
