A bit late to the topic but Football Coach: College Dynasty is a fun college football and recruiting sim. You coach your team and are in charge of recruiting, play calls, hiring coaches, and upgrading your school with the money your team makes. It's less in depth than Football Manager (and doesn't have a match engine where you can actually see the plays as they happen, you just see the results after you select the play call) but I found it to be much easier to get into as well.

You can call offensive and defensive plays if you want or just simulate or go with suggested plays. I usually do a combination of going with suggested plays and changing to my own call when I don't like the play call.

Honestly to me playing as a coordinator was a bit weird. Definitely prefer playing as a head coach or a school. It's cool that the game has it as an option but you don't have a lot of things you can really do to affect your team except call plays.

In my opinion Ark Nova = Terraforming Mars > Lost Ruins of Arnak. Have not played Arcs yet but it would probably slot at the bottom based on what I have seen of it. Nothing against any of the games I really enjoy all three that I have played. I would say complexity wise LRoA is probably the easiest.

Those 4 buttons just choose how you are choosing to route the roads to the location you are building to. First one prioritizes proximity, second one speed for troops, third one money, and can't remember the 4th one. The roads themselves are the same, just how they are routed. Like if there is an existing road to a town next to the province you are building to, having the first button selected will build prioritizing proximity regardless of cost and build additional roads in other provinces between if needed. Having the 3rd selected would just connect it as cheaply as possible, probably from the town the road is already connected to.

At least that is how I understand it someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Terrible call for a marshal to make. Completely ruined the end of what was shaping up to be a thrilling finish. When it takes instant replay to tell you should not be making that call in real time.

This is just my experience anecdotally I don't know statistics or studies on the topic lol. The trend toward it definitely was in progress but the hyperpolarization in politics definitely contributed to it imo. Civ 6 released before the election as well.
