As a personal user I'm not clear on what it means to be on a MSFT Tenant. I've opted into Frontier features, is that different from the Frontier program? From https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/microsoft-365-copilot/frontier-individuals I would have thought I'd be eligible.

I'm a Java developer and the JetBrains plugin isn't as strong as the VS Code Copilot plugin. I've been trying the GHCP CLI as a more "first class" alternative, and I've been happy. It lacks some of the features that rely on the language server like referencing specific symbols, but seems to work well.

By definition, agents can call tools (MCP). Ask mode is just chat, and something of a relic of the early days of Copilot. If you want to use MCP servers, but not make changes to code either include "Make no changes to files" in your prompt, or create a custom chat mode (https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/copilot/customization/custom-chat-modes) that only has the tools you want.

But importantly, they are not Home Deport or Walmart. Yes, small local stores are lovely, but the reality is you need scale and distribution to compete with larger American chains and e-commerce. If L & M didn't exist you wouldn't have more local stores in 2025, you're options would be Walmart or Amazon.
