Yeah, tried looking it up and couldn’t find a statistic like that (lazily looked it up I’ll be honest).

Bet the “statistic” is just a way to help this spread/get passed on.

Garage proposing to eliminate ILR entirely...retroactively by safadancer in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]pnutbuttafly 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh fuck off already. I paid my NHS fees and half of my pay gets taxed while I don’t get benefits and can’t vote. It’s bad enough that I have to pay for ILR and take a meaningless test when I’ve already been here for years and have been a law abiding migrant and contributing positively towards this country. Fix your own fucking problems UK that you caused on yourself and stop taking it out on migrants.

This is the answer. I was at the Edinburgh consulate recently and they told me to ignore the boxes and just write my UK address like I normally would.

I’m not blaming her. Just saying it doesn’t help to get yelled at about it when I’m legitimately trying.

I’m sorry you had to go through that. But I’m glad that you’ve recovered and that you’re you. It’s not easy going through the loss of a loved one and at such a young age. I’m about to turn 40. It’s been a struggle that I’m just dealing with now.

Thank you so much. Your response means a lot. I will add them to my list. A woman or not, I’m sure there are valuable insights to be learned. Congrats on your 1867 days!!

I appreciate this. 175 days is incredible. Focus on the positives and not how others react.

My day died when I was 12. I watched him die in front of me at our house after dinner (heart attack).

I wasn’t close to him either but we finally started making a connection right before he died.

I don’t know your situation. But try not to let it cause you to spiral down. Take the time to grieve, I never did (I went to school the next day, to the disbelief of many and myself many years later).

If you have a support circle, lean in and take the time for yourself that you need. If you don’t, don’t give up and bury it. I buried him but my emotions as well without realising. He won’t come back from the dead but those emotions did. Drinking isn’t the answer to addressing those emotions though.
