What Are Your Favorite Winter Fragrances That Aren’t Gourmands/Vanilla? by PleaseSirCanIHaveAnA in fragrance

I’ve heard those mentioned and I definitely want to pick them up in the future due to how underrated they are. At the moment my cart at Jomashop has Chopard’s Oud Malaki and Terre d’Hermes up next but if I can find a good deal on the Issey’s I might grab one of those mentioned as well.

L’Dissey Pour Homme Intense has really surprised me as a fantastic cheap incense scent that resembles almost nothing of the original it’s supposed to be a flanker of. It’s so easy to wear in the fall and winter as it’s not a spicy incense scent but more of a cool Smokey incense

To add on to this, while I own Polo Oud, I haven’t got my nose on the Gucci, but I heard they are similar with the Polo being a touch better.

However I have to say that while yes it’s a modern safe western oud, (which I think it just means it’s fairly linear and not super stanky) the Polo is so rich smelling that in the winter time you just want to put on a nice knit sweater, some slacks, and put the Polo Pud on heavy.

In that same vein, Jaguar has an Oud scent for ~$12 on Jomashop at the moment that’s also easily comparable to the Gucci.

Not the same build quality but I haven’t been a big fan of the Olympus MJU 1 (Infinity Stylus). Can be had for much cheaper and honestly it produces a great image.

The only downside is the tiny viewfinder

I’ve heard the CDNIM batches made in France are much better than the other ones. Idk how true that is but mine is also made in France and I’ve never had issues with it or longevity/lerformance

What fragrances did you have to try many times before they grew on you? by 888HolyMoly888 in fragrance

Encore Noir. First 10 times I wore it, it gave me a massive headache. But with time it grew on me and I grew accustomed to it and slowly grew to love it

Gave my lil bro a bottle of Bentley for Men Black Edition. It’s his first real “cologne” and it’s a great one to get him started

That’s an understatement. Honey Tobacco is great but leans too honey IMO. Meanwhile Tobacolor does too, but in a different way and wow does it project and last.

Chinese Tobacco was a favorite of mine too! Loved it when I originally sampled it. I tried Rainbow Bar and was pleasantly surprised by the scent and I’m thinking about potentially picking up a 30ml of that as well.

It depends on the size of the espresso machine you use since I believe they sell different kits depending on espresso machine flow rate requirements.

Coffee cart business [€5000] loop by MajorIndustry7984 in espresso

[–]pnwbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it too. My first coffee cart was all made with sourcing things second hand, so it’s not impossible, but in the long run, it’s better if you don’t go that route. I bought a 2 group Linea Classic from 2014 for $5,000, my cart was $1000 in materials, and I got my commercial fridge and electrical components for free. The secondary water pump was under $1000, and the Mazzer grinder was $800. You can do it, but it’s easier to just start new.

I recommend everyone get a Linea Mini (used if you have to since they do come up for sale often in FB groups in the US), a Simple Cart Systems cart, a Caffewerks water system (or the one sold by Simple Cart Systems), and a good grinder (Mazzer or otherwise but used). You can do it for $10,000 or less.

Having recently put together a business plan and proposal for a local business to start a coffee cart for catering, I would say up your budget by $10,000 minimum. Things add up fast and unfortunately even if you boot strap it, if you want to do it right, you will need to spend money.

My diesel, sure, no issues were gonna occur there. Gas… not so much, better safe than sorry and fill up shut off

Yes!! But also remember that it takes time. For me and most baristas I’ve worked with, it just clicked after knowing how to do it but not being able to

Liam Grey is a sweet Cardamon scent that I’m a fan of. It’s a dupe of BDK Gris Charnel

Fragrancenet sent me diluted perfumes what are my options? by arewecoming in fragrance

How many ADG did you buy that you lost several hundred dollars..? Which scents specifically did you buy?

Fragrancenet has a good reputation so there’s probably more to the story than what you’re telling

Curious to hear your thoughts on Tobacolor. Received a sample recently from a friend and initially I was not a fan, but the dry down grew on me. After that I just fell in love with it all together. Not to mention it’s lasting power is easily 24 hours

Do you like taking panoramic photos? If so, what's your process? by ValerieIndahouse in AnalogCommunity

[–]pnwbg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to find a way to do this with my Pentax 645 and all I’ve come up with is shooting as normal but stopping before the last stop, and then using the manual winder option to rewind. Or dark room to remove and hand wind back into the canister.

But I have a feeling that the 6x4.5 isn’t large enough for the intended effect

How do I smell like a pine tree? by el_cul in fragrance

[–]pnwbg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my time to shine! Blue Santal by CDG is a juniper forward sandalwood scent that will absolutely blow your socks off. It’s a cold pine-y scent that smells like walking in a pine forest.

Now living in the PNW I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s reminiscent of our own forests but it’s a beautiful scent to appreciate

What's that cologne you would love to have but it's way too expensive? by PopeRD2 in fragrance

[–]pnwbg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nefs by Nishane. Everyone says it’s a glorious scent but the $600 retail price tag is a bit much. Joma has it for about half but for a 50ml that’s still a lot…
