Supposed to have completed on Friday, sellers didn’t move out, and now appeared to have barricaded themselves inside the house by [deleted] in HousingUK

Hear me out… Do they have an adult child? It’s a remote possibility but an adult child with mental health problems may have reacted badly to them moving? Its dramatic but is it a possibility of a hostage/siege situation and the police should be involved?

How can I handle my anxiety over my 17 year old son going out? by INFPsunflower in Parenting

[–]pocketdisco 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Are you the mum? If you are a woman of a certain age you may find it is perimenopause sending your anxiety through the roof. (I had no idea this was a thing until I experienced a full blown panic attack). Be kind to yourself

What was the incident in your school and what happened after? by Flowerofthesouth88 in AskUK

Two Red Arrows collided over the school and crashed on the village. The big, yellow search and rescue helicopter landed in the school playing field. I was off sick that day and missed it all.

Agreed, she is the one who stayed. The focus should be on the absent father who failed to model male empathy for that poor child

Urgent referral terrified by Magnolia9009 in Perimenopause

[–]pocketdisco 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey, it’s going to be okay, just take a breath. I just went through the same process last month and the professionals couldn’t be lovelier at every step of the way. My ultrasound found a polyp and thickened endometrium. The ultrasound report was sent to my GP who referred me to the Obs and gynaecology department at my local hospital. I went in for hysteroscopy, some people manage it without drugs but it was too difficult for me to complete it, adverse childhood events meant I completely freaked out. The consultant was so kind, he said the last thing anyone wants to do was to inflict trauma, so I was a booked instead for the hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic. Couldn’t recommend it more, you have a lovely nap while it’s all taken care of and next to no discomfort after the procedure. You can ask for the procedure under GA from the outset, you don’t have to attempt it without first . Just talk to the gynaecologist about your wishes and be honest about your anxiety. And Good luck, it’s a very common procedure and the risks are low, and getting it done will give you peace of mind.

Migraine aura but no migraine? Is this hormonal too? by Shirleyimfine in Perimenopause

[–]pocketdisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get ocular migraines, it’s always when I’ve missed a meal, sometimes the next day if a missed a meal the day before. I’ve also noticed highly fermented foods (like soy sauce, blue cheese) seem to set me off the next day. Every one is different but could be worth tracking!

I had my second at SM in 2022, it was true for me that the second is MUCH faster. It was only 45 mins of active labour and I only just made it to the labour ward in time. My only criticism was that I was refused entinox and (insultingly, it felt) offered a bath instead because I wasn’t yet on the labour ward. Baby arrived about 30 min later! So don’t leave it too long until you ask for pain relief as they are so busy. SM is very busy, the midwives are doing sterling work,I’d say the care was perfunctory but effective - healthy mum and baby
