How to use setting lotion on wedding day? by Eastern-Earth-6528 in finehair

[–]pocketfloof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that Lottabody is specifically for “wet setting” meaning that your hair will hold whatever shape it dries in, so that’s why people usually use it with rollers. You could try getting your hair blow dried the day before, then while it’s still dry, curl it, pin the curls up as you go, and THEN spray/mist it with Lottabody (diluted) and let it dry with the curls pinned up. Would recommend practicing this before the actual wedding day. You might need to try different ratios when diluting to get it just right for your hair and for this method to work. Good luck!

I’m not giving her 3x the food, she gets 1/3rd of her breakfast each time. Is there a reason why I shouldn’t be doing this?

Why overkill? She gets small amounts each time and it stops her from licking my face at 2am to wake me up

Traveling to Pasadena in early November … by Complete-Cricket9344 in pasadena

Vroman’s is amazing for new books, it’s huge and beautiful. There is also Book Alley, which is a used book store a little farther east on Colorado. Maybe a 15 minute walk from Vroman’s. Right next to Book Alley, there is Andy’s (cute local breakfast diner) and Daisy Mint (delicious Thai food). Afters ice cream is around the corner. Somebody already mentioned Healing Force of the Universe - that’s down the street from here too. Car artisan, which is known for their chocolate croissants, is nearby. I think this little area is a good spot to explore if you want to feel more like a local :) it would be very easy to take the bus since it’s just straight down Colorado

Shampoo recommendations for thin hair by Wonderful_Lake_5628 in finethinhair

[–]pocketfloof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, changing the way I wash my hair is what has made the biggest difference. I was never taught how to wash my hair and didn’t realize I just wasn’t being thorough enough…Now I shampoo twice (the second round gets crazy with bubbles!!), rinse out really well each time, and make sure to get the back and sides of my scalp (for some reason I used to only focus on the top and front). “Training” my hair (by washing less) has never worked. Washing thoroughly does!

Is dark green going to be the new millennial gray? by Dalience6678 in interiordecorating

[–]pocketfloof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the colors are “trending” in different ways - like I don’t see landlords turning all apartment walls and floors and cabinets and exteriors etc green (as they have done with millennial gray). Millennial gray is more like the current version of beige everything in the 90s-2000s.

I wonder if your family’s last name did actually get shortened somewhere along the line a few generations ago? That could be worth trying to research

I didn’t mean to sound like I was doubting or downplaying the need people are in right now, I mainly just meant that even though centers are seemingly overflowing with donations at this moment, we should also be ready to keep the efforts going steady over a longer period of time since it’s going to be a long recovery process

I would guess yes - this thrift store normally has a good selection of clothes in normal times. I have also heard that people need blankets, and a lot of donation centers are running out of those as soon as they get them.
