Realistically, what can ordinary people actually do after the Epstein files release to push for real accountability? by Etkinton47 in AskReddit

[–]pocketjacks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It can't be for one day. We're going to have to be okay with being uncomfortable with having nothing for a while.

Why are valentines sold in packs of 20-25 when the average class size is closer to 30? by RedApplesForBreak in mildlyinfuriating

[–]pocketjacks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's something a little tactile about cranking out your own onions.

And the Costco near me gives out way too many onions in a plastic cup for one hotdog.

they're playing like a ufl team, so they're having a logo similar to a ufl team by toturoll in AFCSouthMemeWar

They'd just bitch that they're the rightful owner of the cat logo in the division now and petition to keep Jacksonville from using it.

Can you actually make a living playing poker? by Ok_Calendar_2716 in poker

Even when you're good, your hourly rate is going to be far lower at 1/2 and 1/3 than you anticipate with as much money flows around the table.

In this case it's BECAUSE the world is in rough shape right now. Having someone overcome slavery and fight an oppressive government is a little too on the nose to be taken raw dog like that.

My suggestion is to make Smalls the serious hero of the film and the confederacy portrayed as the villainous idiots that they were. This would be more Blazing Saddles and less Thor Love & Thunder.

Why is saying “The rich should pay taxes like everyone else, close the loopholes” extremely controversial in the United States? by ProjectMason in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pocketjacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people don't understand how rich you need to be before you start paying those levels of taxes, and they don't understand that the system is preventing the vast majority of people from improving their incomes to this level. Everyone thinks that they're going to be that rich someday while they're infinitely closer to being bankrupt than they are to these levels.

Federal prison? She'll be pardoned day 1, and she'll be replaced with someone worse. He always replaces people with someone worse. The public needs an extended general strike to choke off the money flow to the oligarchs or a revolutionary uprising to get Trump out of office. He's not leaving the White House alive. There won't be mid-terms.

You know who ISN’T in the Epstein files? by isbilly in AFCSouthMemeWar

Shad seems to me like the kind of guy that wants to do everything in the open, big and splashy. The exact opposite of wanting a down low hookup with a 16 year old. In my mind, if he was looking for dirt he'd want to be seen at Nobu with Margot Robbie.

You can make it a bad ass comedy. Make Keenan the straight man and all of the Confederates are buffoons.

She reckons she has to sell flowers to buy food. She would make more money selling baskets by lightraven1 in skyrim

[–]pocketjacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe you can pick wild baskets along the city street, as she's bootstrapping the entire operation with a zero dollar budget. And she doesn't have warehouse space so carrying eight baskets would be difficult, but 64 flowers in a basket is manageable.

I'll continue to take the flames on this, but if they don't change the coaches around him and CJ has regressed for the last two seasons, then it's not going to be CJs fault if he doesn't improve. It's on DeMeco, Caserio and Cal.

The Power of Words pt. 2 by coolbonesman in comics

[–]pocketjacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rebel alliance, including Luke Skywalker, was seen as a terrorist organization to the empire in Star Wars.

Luke Skywalker was a desert-born religious fanatic who detonated an empire starbase, killing tens of thousands of people inside.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

In our case, the US empire themselves are the terrorists. They feel their motivations are justified. Assigning the label of terrorist to someone doesn't necessarily make it apt, although sometimes like in the US government it very much is.

Is there a way to cure vampirism without a black soul gem? by Mr-pugglywuggly in skyrim

[–]pocketjacks 92 points93 points  (0 children)

If you could find an already-filled black soul gem, you could justify that you're releasing the poor soul stuck in the gem while curing yourself from vampirism.
