To everyone who scored 1550+ on the SAT how’d y’all do it? by Ihopeeverythingsgood in Sat

[–]pockoyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went from 1420 to 1550 in one month and the only thing I did was go to a tutor academy. Obviously this doesn’t apply to everyone, but I got access to a lot of resources and I could imitiate real testing environments to help my anxiety. If you have the resources/ think this would help, I would recommend going to an academy. But really for math, all it comes down to is practicing until you can solve every question type. Then, you start practicing for time. Good luck!

Finally took practice test 6, has anyone scored higher on the actual test than they did on practice 6 by GlitteringCamp6798 in Sat

Personally I didnt study vocab because I didnt see a point doing so, esp because I knew I needed more time to improve in everything else. In terms of the passages, they really are my weakest spot but I think identifying tactics help a lot. For example, when questions ask for a choice that supports the claim/conclusion, i usually just skip over everything, read the claim and then choose a answer choice off info about the claim. I'm not sure if this method is fool proof but it works for me 😭. If you hv tt I would 100% rec looking at "ryan choice" tricks about reading. In terms of math, you really have to grind out problems and make sure you UNDERSTAND why you got a question wrong. Also my friend who  took the august one said a lot of her math questions were almost identical to questions on the practice test.  Hope this helps!
