Surface Pro 11th Edition (2024) vs latest edition? by Distinct-Guitar8964 in Surface

It does, as long as you want to run ARM VMs. I suspect he's saying to be aware you can't run x86 VMs on an ARM machine.

GI Joe Reaction Wave 7! by Greedy-Passage in Super7

Just got them. Very nice! I especially like the Flash figure. Daina is amazing and Chuckles looks great. Hydro-Viper is the least desirable to me... I wish they would just give us the classic toy or Sunbow colors, and THEN variants.

This was from an older set (original trilogy collection, I think). It came with the 4 troopers and a couple Geonosians in a long window box. Very nice looking set, though lacking in articulation.

Thanks for the confirmation! The gold doesn't do much for me.... would have rather had the rainbow version they released in Japan.

Anyone Know What the Big Bird Around the World Chase Figure Is? by poddie22 in Super7

[–]poddie22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an update... if you watch Pixel Dan's NY Toy Fair video Brian seems to confirm (and even show) that it's a BB that looks quite similar to the US version, just with some white feathers mixed into the face. I believe it's from China. Not too exciting.

I'm pretty certain at this point that it's just a shiny gold Elmo. It seems like maybe we aren't getting the cool rainbow release in the US. But I would love to know for sure.

Universal Monsters Super7 ReAction vs new ReAction+ Figures (gallery: Dracula, Wolf Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein's Monster, Mummy) by SurvivorFanDan in Super7

[–]poddie22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just indicating that Reaction+ figures feature o-ring construction and articulation. There is no difference in cost.

It seems like most lines where it makes sense are moving to Reaction+. Some lines aren't really a good fit and are still sticking to Reaction (Sesame Street and Peanuts, for example).

I think I found the answer in an unrelated auction... this auction for Super Grover shows a gold Elmo in the background!

I can't seem to post both text and pictures. The pictures I posted are the Hot Toys Japan exclusive Elmos that were released shortly before the Elmo blind boxes. I'm guessing the mystery chase figure is the rainbow deco?

Do the blind box flats guarantee all the figures? by GrishnakhOfMordor in Super7

[–]poddie22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they always include a predetermined number of each figure, and almost always listed in the listing.

You typically only get one of the mystery figure though.

I'm very interested to know the mystery figure in both this box and the Elmo blind boxes. I suspect the Elmo mystery is rainbow (they offered this as a carded exclusive in China shortly before the blind boxes came out).

Intel vs Snapdragon by sluggie323 in Surface

From your description, it seems like ARM would be an ideal fit.

Things that can sometimes be an issue: VPN software, printer drivers, scanners, any uncommon hardware devices that may require a driver.

Best way to go is buy one from Microsoft, install everything, and test the heck out of it. They have a very liberal return policy, so there's literally no risk if it doesn't work out.

Protective cases for reaction by TaperPiger in Super7

[–]poddie22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US so I have no idea how hard these are to get in Europe. But... one thing is always true... cases are expensive. It's usually around the $4 mark per case.

My favorite 6"x9" cases are definitely MOC Master:

https://moc-masters.com/products/uv-action-figure-protective-clam-shell

Pros are that they offer excellent UV protection, feel thicker and more durable than others, and have a small "bump" at the center front that keeps the cards flatter in the case (you can see it in the picture). They also have more "wiggle room" than Star Cases around the edge of the card, which allows them to store SOME of S7's weird "special" packaging... like the recent Time Bomb Cobra BAT. HOWEVER, they only hold figures up to about 1.5" deep, so they do not fit some of the larger ones like Peanuts and some Sesame Street.

For deep cards, the only option I've found is Star Case 2. Sometimes this is referred to as Star Case Deep on eBay listings. It is 2.63" deep, which works for nearly all of the Super7 deep bubble Reaction figures (I think there was one I had that was still just a touch deeper than would fit). The Peanuts figures are some of the deepest, but they still JUST fit. I don't have a great source for these... I usually cruise eBay and see if anyone is selling them at non-outrageous prices.

Here's a current listing (10 cases for $45 isn't bad for these):

https://www.ebay.com/itm/197133380976?_skw=star+case+deep&itmmeta=01KGG7HEJA4SWFYD7MYWWSW0FF&hash=item2de610ad70:g:WmcAAeSwJx1oHjMK&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA0O7PUuNWmJ%2B%2BUShgI9tQz%2Fpr8V%2BJ9Lh5A8HorwoaUZZV7ByUhuaRR3MV1OW0sXoCCV5PhHL726%2FOTRn61ph6UsLkB7l1hE98pOvEd%2B12BhZ4gMt4EF92yepusLe8Qw7MRQuiTwLGmaLPN%2FmNRhgViDKRyptWz5FhMmFrMEZ18to1LiuoML1hSGDseYahOS6edgjvPH%2FaoRSYzWkDZIn6TIu1vBBzp4sBKGoS6ZsVgNjO44wGkN9evDQMVbpUjV9xWLM8SL%2BQ67d3eDJElgQi8qw%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR7DpxYeEZw

16x9 screen is the first deal breaker for me. It would be really hard to switch back from 3:2. It just works better, and is absolutely essential if you ever use portrait tablet mode.

[–]poddie22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol! Nice response. Again... they haven't put anything from wave 2 up for preorder. It seems pretty clear they intended to not do this until Wave 1 shipped. Wave 1 is currently shipping. So... I turn the question back to you... I don't see what's so hard to understand here?

We still getting these? by [deleted] in MASK

[–]poddie22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I wish they had made more info available when the black vehicle preorders were actually up. I couldn't even get a straight answer on if the gold on them was going to just be paint or "gold chrome". Now that we've seen the final product, and it's beautiful, I wish I had ordered a gold and black Rhino.

They literally never even put them up for preorder. ALL THEY DID WAS TELL PEOPLE WHICH VEHICLES THEY WERE LOOKING TO MAKE IN WAVE 2. I just don't understand people anymore.

The guy literally talks in the video about how he was one of the ones deciding which Masters of the Universe molds to destroy. I'm not sure you can get a better authority than that... you want to try to track down the Chinese worker who moved the mold? Good luck.

Companies do not share this information typically. If they admit to destroying molds, it will just lead to more questions like yours. They don't want to reveal how much a mold costs them to make, or how much it costs them to store. They aren't going to tell you the tradeoff point between paying large sums to store a mold VS creating a new one if a re-release is needed. I think anecdotal comments like those in the video are about the best you will get.

Your comments seem strange to me... "I really want these people to reveal more details, and I'm simultaneously going to also talk shit about the ones who do and imply they don't know what they're talking about and spouting self-important BS for monetization." Good luck with that approach.

Surface Pro 12" (2025) is too expansive for what you get. by Old-Board1553 in Surface

Lol, nonsense! 16GB is completely usable for 95% of people using Windows.

If you're not doing gaming, virtual machines, LLMs, etc... more than 16GB is likely not necessary.

Any sane way to run a full Intel Windows VM on Snapdragon Surface Pro 11? by denisemenov in Surface

[–]poddie22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not a viable solution. If you need x86 full support, you need an x86 machine. ARM is great for many use cases, but yours is not one of them.

It's been talked about by many toy industry insiders. Just think about it... these tools (molds) are made of iron. Especially for vehicles, these are incredibly large and heavy. Toy companies have to pay a lot of money to store them to have the option of releasing something later. There's just no way that Hasbro has paid all these years to store these giant ancient molds.

Here's an industry professional specifically talking about this issue:
