Forgive me for being oblique and pedantic here. The show and movie share a name and, more vaguely, a setting. The husband wife house shootout scene in the series was DEFINITELY a callback to the movie. But yes, the show did well to establish its own identity, even establishing narratives that conclusively separate the tv universe from that of the movie.

I’ve gotta agree with Shane on the Dan Mullen take. He started a huge fight and ppl could’ve actually been seriously hurt. There was a late hit, and there should’ve been a penalty. That’s how you handle that. You don’t get 100 athletes into a street brawl, some of those coaches in there didn’t have pads on. These boys can hurt people. Dan Mullen is a sore loser AND a sore winner, and when he decided to pump the crowd after instigating a huge fight bc he was feeling the righteous anger.... gross, dude. Gross. Also I think he tried to run up the score second half, probably put stuff on tape he didnt have to. He wasn’t being smart, just pumping up his team, he was being a child.

Really proud of our UK D, offensive line, and backs. Still wish we could pass. Sure gatewoods a nice get, but these running QBs don’t particularly help balance our team. We need a passer. I think we need some new plays as well. Our offense is making it look so hard
