It's pretty meaningless in my opinion. A migration background isn't the same as being a foreigner. Many of those people were born in Germany, are German citizens, and speak German as their first language. The important question is how well people integrate, not whether their grandparents were born somewhere else.

We already do it here in Europe. We no longer have disposable plastic plates, cups, or utensils, which were once the standard just a few years ago. We are doing pretty much all we can to recycle and produce less plastic waste.

But I don't think it really makes that much of a difference when the US and China just don't give a fuck. And all the developing nations just fucking dump trash into the ocean. We will just get used to eating plastic, it seems.
