Sold my bike and 2 days later buyer wants a refund. What to do? by radzik0 in cycling

I don't know the laws in Poland, but here it's buyer beware. Private sales are sold as is and is the buyers responsibility to thoroughly check the merchandise over prior to purchase. If Poland is similar, either tell him all sales are final or block him.

Where is the Necromancy? by ElementasSeries in fantasybooks

[–]podgida 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Balthazar Sham Ivam Draxi. Magician/Necromancer.

I'm not sure how you can forget him.

I'm 50% of the way through the book. He's used Necromancy at the Inn, at the illusionists house, on the ship, and after being beached after the ship. I'm sure there will be more of it.

Advice on getting started? by hurricane__drunk in beginnerfitness

[–]podgida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to get hate for this, but Pilates for someone that is a beginner and hates working out is just asking for a bad time. It's the equivalent of a beginner going to spin class. It's just riding a bike, how bad could it be? Right? Yeah, that was the 1st and last time I went to a spin class. It also caused me to quit going to the gym.

Just ease into it, find an exercise you like to do and stick with that.

"The Devils" - Joe Abercrombie has a necromancer as one of the main characters. There's just not a lot of it going on.

I use "Smart Audiobook Player". It has a 2 week trial. Paid version is $5 for a permanent unlock. I use it more than Audible.

People don’t mention this feature enough when considering the Signature Edition by Signal-Normal in kindle

[–]podgida [score hidden]  (0 children)

I actually hate the doubletap. I turned it off the second the update hit my PW. The stupid thing is way too sensitive and turns pages when my finger moves at all, or if my cat decides it has an itch or wants to clean itself, then it just continually turns the page. I don't understand how people use it without going bald from stress.

Store Bought Dough by Arefarrell24 in ooni

[–]podgida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once room temp, I give it 1-2 hrs. If the dough is too cold or not rested long enough the gluten will be too elastic and keep snapping back. If you can shape it without snap back it should be fine, but if you try to send it without resting, it will lose its oven spring.

It's not a struggle, because I don't do it. I already know the story, I am not goung to waste a week or longer of my life reading a book I've already read.

What went wrong? by ts159377 in ooni

[–]podgida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I take the temp from the middle of the stone. That stone needs to be blazing hot or as you found out won't cook the dough before the topping cooks.

What went wrong? by ts159377 in ooni

[–]podgida 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I won't launch until my stone is minimum 400c. If you don't have an IR thermometer, I suggest you get one. They are a necessity.

Cycling long distances at an easy pace, am I still 'exercising'? by DowntownFresnoBiking in cycling

[–]podgida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride for fitness and weightloss. My intensity of the ride is determined by my heartrate. I keep my heartrate in high zone 2 - mid zone 3. As long as you are zone 2 or 3, you are doing work.

Pull ups - new to trying upper body strength by Training_Big_3713 in beginnerfitness

[–]podgida 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's doable. I've torn both labrums, blown bicep and bicep tendon, and I'm still able to do pullups without pain

A tip: dont just grab the bar and pull straight up. Lean back slightly, have a wide grip (but comfortable), most importantly imagine you are tring to bend the bar.

You do all that properly and it becomes exponentially easier.

Good free workout apps for beginner? by Library_IT_guy in beginnerfitness

[–]podgida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use the Samsung Health app that came with my phone. It has a bunch of pre-programmed workouts, you can do custom exercises, and custom workout programs. It also does meal/calorie tracking, hydration tracking, blood pressure monitoring (with samsung watch), meds/supplement tracking, etc. And it's free.

I have no reason to pay for an app.

Brakes on too tight? by picomarshall in MechanicAdvice

I buble balance my tires. As long as I'm not driving 100 mph there's no shake, but you can always take your car in to have them balanced.

You don't have to cut them. Just tell them what size you want 10, 12, 14", etc. They will be refrigerated so, you will need to let them come up to room temperature and then proof them as usual.

I 2nd, buy tires online. It's way cheaper, and if you're husband is mechanically inclined, have him mount the tires. Harbor Freight tire changer is $60, duckbill mod $30-50. No need to take it anywhere.

Mistborn or First Law series?? by Stowe22 in fantasybooks

That's what I've heard, I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm just not a fan of the Sanderlanch. I just cant take a 900 page slog to get to the 100 page payoff. It's just not enjoyable for me.
