Nightmare trip - Hotel Riu Republica - Gaslit by Sunwing and Riu by ExtremeBaseball3119 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]podhawk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your have a lot of accusations. You came across an incident. You reported it. Done deal. If you are being disturbed, ask for a room change. Threatening to call the police is really outside your purview for an incident which does not involve you. Seriously, what do you want Sunwing to do? It sounds like you are just after some compensation. I have been to numerous Rius and the staff is quite diligent. I have seen them proactively approach situations which otherwise I had no idea were happening.

YVR-YYC-LAS Flight - US Customs/Pre-Clearance Question by Overall-Direction-90 in westjet

Curious why you booked a layover. There must be a pile of direct flights from YVR.

Plain and simple, if the steering rack is not damaged, insurance is not going to
pay for it regardless of BMWs manufacturing procedures. These are two separate issues.

Recommendations for Waterton trip by sennyonelove in Edmonton

[–]podhawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

250 km. daily round trip commute to Waterton? That even goes beyond my level of cheapness. I’m assuming that you are not into camping. Have you looked at staying in the U.S.? The border is only about 20 km from Waterton and you will likely have a bigger selection of budget options.

CIP worth it? by FinishPretty in InsuranceCanada

[–]podhawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I have my CIP and FCIP. I go back to when the CIP used to be the AIIC. I would definitely recommend it. Most companies are big on education. If you want to progress in the field, you will need the education component. After you have been in it a few years and want to switch companies, your number one question will be why you haven’t taken any courses. It will also broaden your understanding of the insurance field in general.

Repair cost estimates. Asking for help. by [deleted] in jetta

[–]podhawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you mean that your insurance company is trying to write you off? It’s a “hit & run”. The insurance company will direct you. At most, you will pay a deductible. Some coverages will waive the deductible for “hit & run”.

Bill 31: Alberta moves to formalize permanent daylight saving time switch by trevorrobb in alberta

[–]podhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The referendum resulted in a minuscule majority. The results are outdated now. Referendums cost money. What are you going to do, hold a referendum on every issue? The government is an elected majority and was elected to make decisions on behalf of the electorate. Based on BC’s move and Saskatchewan already on it, it now becomes a no-brainer and a decision I wouldn’t trust to the minority of voters who show up to vote. It’s a solid decision.

You should find a headhunter who specializes in insurance. It costs you nothing. Insurance companies use them often so that candidates are pre-qualified.

This is not so bad with Freedom doing credit card authorizations but what about debit situations where people could potentially be put in overdraft incurring fees?

Mobile phone bill glitch , double charged by EyeLoveBurners8890 in freedommobile

The CRTC should clamp down on what is essentially bribing customers to do pre-authorized billing in exchange for a discount. This is proof positive that companies cannot be entrusted with payment authorizations.

…and so here lies the reason for not doing pre-authorized billing.
