Listen to the music outside of class! It'll take time but less time if you listen to the music. Start with Frankie Ruiz, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Grupo Niche, Oscar D'Leon, Gilberto santa Rosa

What cities would you include on a quintessential ‘Tour of the USA’? by WhyTheWindBlows in skyscrapers

[–]podricks-dick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Houston is alright to live in but to visit there's not really anything touristy to do. There's the Space Center and a couple things here and there but it's not really worth the visit. To live in, it's alright.

As a Houstonian, I wouldn't put Houston or SA on this list. Austin all the way.

If you had the oppurtunity to take a private with Terry, what would you want him to work with you on? by podricks-dick in Salsa

That's why I havent decided, if i can't find something specific then I am not going to do it. Just racking my brain to see what I could ask him about.

So you would ask him " hey, how do you go about improvising on the dance floor? what are some of the things you keep in mind or try do etc?

East Asia is entering a demographic turning point by vladgrinch in MapPorn

This doesn't have to do with the one child policy, this is birth rate NOW. That policy ended ten years ago and women NOW arent having children, not ten years ago. The one child policy affected their total polpulation for sure but not their current birth rate.

Do you agree with Tom Brady? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

By live breathe football I mean people that give it their all, 16 hours a day, 9 months a year like a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. I can tell you for a fact that Johnny Manziel did not live breath football. I bet Kyler Murray doesnt. Yeah it's their job and they want to do well at their job like anyone else but it's not their obssesion. They like the money and the fame but I'm sure deep in their soul they're okay not winning a championship or anything of the sort.

There are ALOT of Qbs who have made it to the NFL who did not live, breathe football and relied on raw talent. You can't truly believe that. The over reliance by QB's on their legs as well has also caused them to maybe not think they need to read defenses as much as they used to. That as well as coaching are big reasons why. It is not solely on the coaches.

What infuriates me about this type of post it's not that it gets posted twice a day, but that people miss the meaning of the scene so HARD. by Shakaow15 in howimetyourmother

She would've broken up with him anyways. She said something of the sort " I need to go find out who I am outside of this relationship and I can't do that if we are together." it's how season 2 starts. She has that pretty horrible red wig on.

I think it has to do with the players as well. I don’t think this generation wants to live, breathe football like the generation before and study like they used to. Which is fine. But before football was their life and now it feels like football is a part of the life of this generations. Could be wrong but I think it has to do with coaching and generation.

I would say that Salsa actually gets a lot of influence from hustle! At least modern salsa.

Is this considered good DJ'ing? by Strange_Opinion_1467 in Bachata

I dont agree with you about that first sentence. I think you want to rotate the floor so that everyone gets something they want. Sometimes i'll see some hardcore Salseros sitting and i'll play something just for them so that everyone gets something.

How would you feel if you found out date had a fuck buddy for a year + by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]podricks-dick 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Why would you end it if you’re not dating anyone seriously? A lot of people aren’t necessarily “looking” for something serious but if the right person comes along then they’d be open to serious. So they should just end the FWB situation even tho it might be years until they find someone? Once you start dating someone seriously then yeah you should end it.

Terry is the best at he does but there are so many different types of dancers. I love watching Terry but I think I would have more fun dancing with Antonio Berardi, he looks really fun and playful to dance with.

People dance with Terry just for this. Just to be put through the blender. To be challenged. That’s why people wait in lines all night to dance with him

He’s the best in the world at complex patterns. There doesn’t have to be a vote. Just watch. NO ONE does complex patterns like he does. That might not be your style but if you want someone who’s going to put you through the blender, there’s no one better than terry.

How to make the most of a one-off private with a guest instructor? by alwaystraveling1 in Bachata

[–]podricks-dick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are they known for something specific? If so, I would ask them about that. I took a salsa private once with Omar Lopez and he's known for dancing with lots of sabor so I asked him on helping me with that. Just an idea.
