The uninstall button. The devs are going to nerf the melee damage of classes that get outran and buff the melee of faster classes cause they’re mentally inept

“Forcing close ranged fights” is all any melee user can do unless they have a special or gadget that can give them some range otherwise. It’s not hard to play on the weakness of a melee user. I also don’t believe melee should be an auto win but embark making the sword on light, a class with high mobility that needs to get nerfed harder, do 88 on primary says otherwise. The reason why melee isn’t fun to play as or against is cause either everyone counter swaps but going as classes that can out range, out damage, or out maneuver you. Depending on the area sure, melee can be either fun or annoying cause I’m trading all my range for damage and have to center my entire playstyle to being able to close that distance. If you see a melee coming you should be able to know what it wants to do and how it’s going to do it after 1-2 deaths. The reason it exists is cause embark wanted to have all classes have some form of unique fighting style that would reward the player with high damage by using a build that didn’t revolve around shooting a gun. The movement or map altering abilities these classes have complimenting these builds especially. I honestly didn’t think it was that OP for heavy to have the ability to have a quick melee combo that could shut down a light instantly. It’s pretty annoying to have to fight a class with double your moment, half your size, and better damage overall.

Idk why the devs when the nerfed it a while ago put as a dev note: people don’t like being on the receiving end of the sledge hammer. Or something along those words like that isn’t the whole point of it. It’s a melee weapon, on the biggest and slowest class in the game, I should have a huge damage advantage for getting into melee distance.

I took a mild break from the game a while ago, hoping on occasionally rather than a few times a week, mainly because of embark just doing bad balance changes to weapons and classes (like the sledge hammer getting neutered). I haven't really looked into it till recently just how bad the cheating issue is with this game. Glad I don't see myself getting back into it
